I decided to write this tract because of all the confusion I have seen by those who 'spiritualize' literal Scripture and come up with all sorts of crazy beliefs & teachings. The teachings of the amillennialist is a prime examples of Scripture twisting with Bible prophecy. The amillennialist seeks to remove the God given, eternal promises to the nation of Israel and 'spiritualize' them away to nothing. They believe that the nation of Israel has been forsaken and are no longer God's chosen people. Amillennialism denies the clear teaching concerning the literal 1000 year period where the Lord Jesus will reign on earth after His return at the battle of Armageddon. That time period is know as the Millennial Kingdom.
What good has the view of amillennialism accomplished for the Church? Really nothing but confusion. Bible prophecy is a great blessing from God and the Christian is encouraged as he sees the days nearing the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. However, the confusers of the brethren do nothing more than to spiritualize the literal making themselves oblivious to the obvious in regards to Bible prophecy.
While thinking how to refute the teaching of the spiritualizers I decided the best way to approach the subject is by looking at the nation of Israel. The nation is back in the land today being blessed by God which is a direct fulfillment of Scripture. That alone is the greatest refutation of all and one given by God Himself! How God must be disappointed as those who teach the foolishness of Amillennialism twist and spiritualize the literal Scripture and prophecies given by God. Israel is back in the land and Jerusalem is once again in the hands of the Jews. To those blinded by spiritualizing the literal this is nothing more than a fluke, a chance happening. To others who love Gods Word and who rightly divide the Word of Truth it is a great blessing and fulfillment of Bible prophecy.
Unfortunately, those who profess amillennialism are unteachable and blinded at any attempts from those who rightly divide the Word of Truth. Such clinging to error is a sad thing and commonplace in these last days.
This tract is for the person who has heard the confusing teaching of Amillennialism/Dominion-ism and has not been fully brainwashed. By looking at Scriptures the way they were intended a different picture can be clearly seen from the confusing errors of amillennialism.
First we will look at several Scriptures outlining the return and blessing of the nation of Israel. Then we will examine the way the 'confusers of the brethren' twist the scriptures as they spiritualize away the literal 1000 year reign of the Lord Jesus on earth.
THE NATION OF ISRAEL:
The Jews of Israel have been dispersed from their land for almost 2000 years. The Bible says they will once again return and they will come back from the four corners of the earth. Ezekiel chapter 36 gives a description of the return of the dispersed Jew back to their homeland for the second time. The first dispersion occurred when the nation was sent in captive to Babylon and they returned in the prophet Daniel's days. The second dispersion occurred in 70 A.D. when the nation was scattered to all nations. Their return to the land has begun in our generation with the formation of the Nation of Israel in 1948. From then until now the Jew is still being brought back home to their land by God.
The following verses describe the return of the Jew to Israel.
1. Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:
2 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:
3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made [you] desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and [are] an infamy of the people:
4 Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that [are] round about;
5 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all [their] heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
6 Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen:
7 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that [are] about you, they shall bear their shame.
In the first 7 verses God states that He is the one who judged Israel. He did it because of sin and idolatry in the land. As a result of the judgment in verse 4 the land became desolate waste and the cities forsaken. Quite a judgment but is it permanent? Will Israel be forsaken forever? Did they lose their Eternal promises like the amillennialists say?.... Nope!
Starting in verse 8 God begins to talk about the restoration of the land. We are living in those exciting days! In 1948 Israel became a nation once again and in 1967 Jerusalem was again recaptured! Listen to all the wonderful promises God gives to the land:
8 But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.
The land of Israel was desolate since 70 AD when it was conquered by the Romans and the people dispersed to the four corners of the earth. Since that time the land was a desolate desert where only the drifters lived. What has happened since 1948? Well the land has begun to bloom again like a rose! After being desolate for almost 2000 years the land responded as God brought His people home again! Today the land is blessed and is now a major worldwide exporter of fruit. The desert is coming to life and the land is responding to the Jew returning home.
9 For, behold, I [am] for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:
The land will once again be farmed. Farms are everywhere in Israel and they are doing well and producing all kinds of fruits and vegetables.
10 And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, [even] all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:
The cities will once again be inhabited and the wasteland converted and builded up! That is happening today. Cities are springing up in the land and the wastelands are being restored and rebuilt.
11 And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall
increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old
estates, and will do better [unto you] than at your beginnings:
and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.
12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, [even] my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them [of men].
God will once again increase both man and beast on the land. This is happening today!.... since 1948 when Israel became a nation.
13 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou
[land] devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations;
14 Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD.
The judgment is being removed and men will once again increase in the promised land.
15 Neither will I cause [men] to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.
God will also remove the shame of the nation of Israel. Today Israel is a strong and feared nation. She has won many battles against impossible odds. For just a few million people yet Israel's military is third or fourth best in the world. That alone is quite an accomplishment.
16. Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.
God again mentions why He scattered and judged His people. When they were in the land, they defiled it by their rebellion and sin.
18 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols [wherewith] they had polluted it:
One of the reasons God judged the land was because innocent blood was being shed. That is happening today in our land as babies are being murdered by the thousands by abortion. The land was also polluted by idolatry. The sins of the people became so great that God had to deal with it. God is also beginning to judge North America because of sin...but that is another subject.
19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.
So what did God do? He scattered the people to many countries. Here is a BIG difference between the captivity of Israel in days past and the dispersion that occurred in 70 AD. This dispersion of the people was to many countries. Hence when God brings the Jew back to the land He will do it from MANY countries.
20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went,
they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These [are]
the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.
21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not [this] for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I [am] the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.
Verse 24 indicates that God will return the Jew from ALL countries and that He will bring them back to their own land. The above verses describe how God has brought the nation back into existence. This is happening right now and will continue to happen. However it is only part one of the restoration. Part two is the spiritual restoration of the nation. This will occur at the end of the time of Jacobs trouble which will culminate at the battle of Armageddon when the Lord Jesus returns. At that time there will be a spiritual restoration of Israel as the nation will turn back to God and their Messiah....the Lord Jesus Christ.
Below is a description of the Spiritual restoration of Israel.
Israel will one day return to their God and Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. We will see the Spiritual restoration in more detail when we look at the book of Zechariah. After the Spiritual restoration Israel will be greatly blessed in the Millennial (1000 year) Kingdom.
25. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
What can clean from sin and filthiness? The blood of Jesus!
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I
put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your
flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them].
28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that [were] not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
32 Not for your sakes do I [this], saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.
33 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause [you] to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities [are become] fenced, [and] are inhabited.
36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined [places, and] plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken [it], and I will do [it].
37 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet [for] this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do [it] for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.
When all this is accomplished the entire world will know that God is the one who did it! We are seeing these things begin to happen today!
In Ezekiel chapter 37 we also have the restoration of Israel. There is a prophecy of dry bones:
1. The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which [was] full of bones,
2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, [there were] very many in the open valley; and, lo, [they were] very dry.
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.
5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but [there was] no breath in them.
9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
13 And ye shall know that I [am] the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken [it], and performed [it], saith the LORD.
Here we have the dry bones coming together and then flesh coming upon those bones. Who are the bones. In verse 11 it says they are the whole house of Israel. God is fulfilling these prophecies in our days and bringing the Jew back home to the land of Israel. It is not a fluke that the Jew is returning...it is a fulfillment of God's Word. The 'dry bones' came together in 1948 when Israel once again became a nation.
15. The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and [for] all the house of Israel his companions:
17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.
18 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou [meanest] by these?
19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which [is] in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, [even] with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.
When Israel returns it will not be a divided nation like it was in days past. They will be one people and one nation....and they will be in the very hand of God. Again we are seeing this happen today.
20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand
before their eyes.
21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:
God will bring the Jew home from every country and return them to the land of Israel. Remember it is God who is doing this and today we have the priviledge of seeing this happen!
22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:
They are coming back as one nation, (not divided), and will have One King, the Lord Jesus. That will not happen until the 1000 year Kingdom begins on earth when Jesus returns.
23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their
idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their
transgressions: but I will save them out of all their
dwelling places, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them:
so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
24 And David my servant [shall be] king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.
The Lord Jesus will reign but God previously gave promises to King David. He also will rule during the 1000 year Millennial Kingdom. Israel will return completely to their God and serve Him. No more will they turn to rebellion and sin.
25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, [even] they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David [shall be] their prince for ever.
Notice verse 25. This verse alone refutes the phony claims of the amillennialist. Notice that God gave that land to the Jew FOREVER! This verse is pretty clear and is one of the many wonderful eternal promised that God has given to the physical children of Israel.
26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall
be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and
multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for
27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
God has not forsaken His people Israel. There are many more promises that God will yet fulfil to the children of Israel. Only the blind would deny the obvious and try to spiritualize these eternal promises into nothingness.
28 And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.
Yes God is blessing the literal nation of Israel. When God uses terms like 'everlasting' and 'for evermore' it means just that! God has not forsaken Israel and will never do such a thing.
JERUSALEM IS BACK IN THE HANDS OF ISRAEL
In 1967 a milestone event occurred in Bible prophecy. The Jews of Israel retook the city of Jerusalem after almost 2000 years! This was done against all military odds. In short, it was a miracle that they were able to take the city.
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
When Jerusalem comes back into the hands of the Jew then we know that the 'times of the Gentiles' is fulfilled. The end of the age is quickly approaching and one of the signposts is Jerusalem. First Israel became a nation again in 1948 and Jerusalem is once again in the hands of the Jew. The Lord Jesus is coming back soon and those two events are major signposts.
Another important sign of the last days is Jerusalem center and forefront in the world news. Jerusalem will be the center of the worlds problems in the days to come. The prophet Zechariah showed that by the time of return of Jesus, all nations will be gathered together in war against Jerusalem. Today the nation of Israel and the city of Jerusalem are in the news almost daily. Why is that so? Such a small nation and such a small city! Yet we are dealing with the Holy Land and the apple of God's eye, Israel. It is not a 'fluke' that Israel and Jerusalem is forefront in the world news as the amillennialist would have one to believe. No 'fluke' but rather God actively working.
THE LORD JESUS RETURNS TO EARTH & THE SPIRITUAL RESTORATION OF ISRAEL
When the Lord Jesus returns Israel will exist as a nation. The nation will repent before God over the death of their Messiah. They will have their spiritual conversion at that time. First the nation of Israel will come exist physically and at a later time they will turn back to the God of their forefathers.
Lets have a look at Zechariah chapter 12.
1. The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
This is a Word from God for the nation of Israel. Not spiritual Israel as the amillennialist would try to deceive one into believing...but literal, physical Israel.
2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the
people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against
Judah [and] against Jerusalem.
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
The amillennialist believes that the existence of Israel and Jerusalem in the hands of the Jews is just a fluke. Isn't that crazy! Wake up.... it is not a fluke but a direct fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Go get your local newspaper and see what nation and what city has been forefront in the news for the last 40 years. The nation of Israel and the city of Jerusalem has been under close watch by the WORLD news. Why is this so? Thousands are killed in New York every year and the world news doesn't care. But if one person is killed in Jerusalem it makes front pages around the world! Why is this so if Israel and Jerusalem is just a 'fluke' like the amillennialist says?
No God's Word rebukes the amillennialist! See above at verse 2 and 3. Jerusalem will be a 'cup of trembling' and a 'burdensome stone for ALL people'. Guess what....that is happening right in front of our eyes. God is not finished with Israel and Jerusalem! He is fulfilling prophecy right in front of everyone in the world? Who has eyes to see this simple fact?
Next we read about conditions in Israel at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.
4 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with
astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine
eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the
people with blindness.
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem [shall be] my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.
6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, [even] in Jerusalem.
7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify [themselves] against Judah.
8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David [shall be] as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
9. And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. This age will end with the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. At that time the battle of armageddon will occur. In verse 9 above, God says He will destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. Again we have Jerusalem in the center of the world stage with all the armies camped against it.
10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn.
Who was pierced in Jerusalem? The Lord Jesus Christ. Here we see the conversion of the nation of Israel. They will turn back to God and the Lord Jesus Christ.... their Messiah. There will be great repentance and mourning that day in Jerusalem.
11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as
the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;
13 The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart;
14 All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
Zecharaih has shown us some things that will happen when the Lord Jesus returns. This is going to happen and is a very literal event. However I'm sure the amillennialist would spiritualize the above. Since they are in the habit of spiritualizing literal events in prophecy, they have to do that here also. It is almost like a cult... any verse that doesn't fit in to the amillennialist belief system must be spiritualized away. By using this method the Word of God may be twisted to fit their deceiving view of Bible prophecy. We will see more on this later when we look at the 1000 year reign of Christ and how the amillennialist twists/spiritualizes Scripture.
Lets look at some more verses about the returning Jew to the land of Israel. God has not made silent His plans but has openly declared them in His Word, the Bible.
THE RETURNING JEW TO ISRAEL - DIRECT FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY!
The Jews coming home from the 4 corners of earth. This is happening TODAY!!!! God is bringing Jews home to Israel from every nation.
11 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
Notice in the above verses that the children of Israel will be
brought back to the land of Israel from:
- Various nations (Isa 11:11)
- Islands of the sea
- Four corners of the earth
(This didn't happen in the Babylon dispersion as they came back from one country, Babylon!). But now since 1948 God has been bringing back the Jew from all over the world! We have a direct fulfillment of the Word of God going on in the world and the amillennialist is too blind to see it? They spiritualize all these precious promises to Israel into nothing!.... and as a result have been deceived and are a path of deception/confusion for others.
4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and [without] teraphim:
5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
Hosea is interesting. It sure describes Israel for the last 2000 years. They have been desolate with no Temple, no sacrifice for sin, and no king. We are living in the days of verse 5 (afterward) when God is bringing. them home to Israel. When will it occur....in the latter days (we are now in the latter days). They will also accept their Messiah at the end of the 70th week or the time of Jacob's trouble (the Tribulation period) when the Lord Jesus returns to earth.
Where shall the children of Israel come from when they are restored to their land? From one nation (Babylon) as in the first captivity of Israel? No, they will literally come from the four corners of the world!
5 Fear not: for I [am] with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;
The Jew will come from all over the earth! From the north, the south, the east, and the west is where God will bring the returning Jew back to Israel. This is happening right now as God is calling the Jew back home.
When will this happen? Well Ezekiel chapter 38 describes the coming invasion against the land of Israel by the army to the north (Russia and her allies). Below we see that it will occur in the latter years..... (we are in the latter years now).
1. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I [am] against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts [of armour, even] a great company [with] bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: [and] many people with thee.
7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
8 AFTER MANY DAYS THOU SHALT BE VISITED: IN THE LATTER YEARS THOU SHALT COME INTO THE LAND [that is] BROUGHT BACK FROM THE SWORD, [and is] GATHERED OUT OF MANY PEOPLE, AGAINST THE MOUNTAINS OF ISRAEL, WHICH HAVE BEEN ALWAYS WASTE: but it IS BROUGHT FORTH OUT OF THE NATIONS, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.
Notice that they will come into the land of Israel in the latter years.... Today, the time that we are now living is the latter years! This invading army from the north shall come into the land of Israel that: 1) is brought back from the sword and the land is wasted (desert, etc), 2) The people of the land have been brought forth out of the nations! That is happening right now! The land is being reclaimed by the Jew and is blossom like a Rose. Trees, fruits, and vegetables abound in Israel. This was not the case for the last 2000 years when the land was made into a wasteland & desert. Secondly Ezekiel 38:8 also mentions that the people have come forth out of the nations (plural). The Jew is returning home from all over the world. We have already been covering that but here is another place in God's Word where He again mentions the restoration of Israel from many nations!
To Conclude this section, I think we have seen clear evidence from the Word of God that Israel as a nation is still within the plan of God. Only the totally blind would even try to suggest that God has forsaken Israel. If God forsook Israel then they would not exist as a nation today. It is as plain and simple as that. Here is what God says about forsaking the nation of Israel:
35. Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, [and] the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts [is] his name:
36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, [then] the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.
According to God, the seed/nation of Israel is very safe. That is why the nation exists today and Jerusalem is back in the hands of the Jews. God is still working with the children of Israel.
WORD REDEFINITION: AN EXERCISE IN SCRIPTURE TWISTING AND PERVERSION
How does the amillennialist twist, pervert and spiritualize the precious Word of God to come up with such a warped doctrine? They do it by the process of word redefinition and then using that redefined word elsewhere in Scripture where it suits their false doctrine.
A classic example of word redefinition can be found in the book of Revelation. The Bible clearly teaches that once the Lord Jesus returns the devil will be bound for 1000 years. When I say 1000 I mean 999 + 1 = 1000. During this time period (1000 years) God's Kingdom will be on the earth.
Have a look at the following:
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a THOUSAND years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the THOUSAND years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
It is very clear from the above Scriptures that we are talking about a thousand year period. Does a thousand years mean 999 + 1 to the amillennialist? Unfortunately not. The amillennialist has twisted Scriptures to redefine the meaning of thousand. It does not mean 999 + 1 = 1000, instead it means something else. They have devised a twisted 'spiritual' meaning for the literal thousand (999 + 1) time period. That time period is also known as the Millennium when the Lord Jesus will reign on earth. These people deny that the 1000 year Kingdom of God will exist on earth. They are able to do so by word redefinition.
What does the amillennialist say concerning the 1000 years found in the book of Revelation chapter 20.
They believe it is symbolic and is not a literal time period. They use the verse in Psalms that states "The cattle on a thousand hills are mine". By using that verse they state that 'thousand' does not mean 1000 (999 + 1) but rather it means something else. They take the word 'thousand' to mean eternal or including all, instead of 1000 years.
Pretty crazy isn't it! I look at the above and just shake my head. Can people really be that blind? The amillennialist is stating that because the verse in Psalms uses 'cattle on a thousand hills', the word 'thousand' may be redefined to mean something else. Because of this verse they redefine the use of one thousand (999 + 1) to mean something other than what it really means. I would agree that the above verse is indication ALL hills but I get that from the CONTEXT in how it is used. However I would never be so crazy to take that verse and apply it to the book of Revelation which clearly uses thousand to mean 999 + 1. But that is what the amillennialist does! Lets look closely because this demonstrates the concept of word redefinition that is used by the amillennialist.
Lets look closer at the verse in Psalms:
10 For every beast of the forest [is] mine, [and] the cattle upon a thousand hills.
This one verse is used in word redefinition. Yes I would agree that due to the context of the verse that the term 'a thousand hills' would mean all hills. However does it make sense to take the word 'thousand' and take that same meaning and use it in other places where the word 'thousand' occurs. No that would be quite foolish. However anything is possible with amillennialism. This is what word redefinition is. Take a word, redefine it, and use it elsewhere. The redefinition is not used everywhere the word 'thousand' occurs, but just where it is needed to 'prove' the amillennialist's warped doctrine. What we have here is Scripture twisting and outright deception.
I mentioned this to a friend and he indicated that another problem the amillennialist has ignored. It is that the above verse in Psalms was written in Hebrew and the one in Revelation was written in Greek. I guess their word redefinition crosses language barriers.
Keep the word redefinition in mind and read the verses below from the book of Revelation. Just use your common sense and see if the redefined word fits in. Should the word 'thousand' mean eternal/includes all, or should the word 'thousand' be used as it is intended..... (999 + 1).
REVELATION CHAPTER 20
1. And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Notice that the devil is taken and bound for 1000 years. All this happens at Armageddon when Jesus will return physically to earth at the mount of Olives in Jerusalem.
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the THOUSAND years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
The devil will be bound for 1000 years. Also notice during that time there will be 'nations' on earth. This will occur during the Millennial reign of Christ. Near the end of the 1000 year period the devil will be released for a short time.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received [his] mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a THOUSAND years.
When Jesus rules on earth ... so will His people. They will rule with the Lord Jesus Christ during the Millennium. Again another reference to the 1000 year period. (pretty clear isn't it!)
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the THOUSAND years were finished. This [is] the first resurrection.
The lost have to wait for 1000 years. At the end of that time they will be judged at the White Throne judgment and thrown in to hell (the lake of fire). (see verse 11)
6 Blessed and holy [is] he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a THOUSAND years.
Another reference to the 1000 year period....and those who will reign with the Lord Jesus for 1000 years.
7 And when the THOUSAND years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Another reference to the 1000 year period. Do you think God is trying to make a point by referring to the 1000 year reign of Christ again and again?
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four
quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to
battle: the number of whom [is] as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
The rebellion at the end of the 1000 year period is short and God deals quickly with it.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet [are], and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
So we have the devil bound for 1000 years...and then he is released a short time....and then he is thrown into the lake of fire. The false prophet and the antichrist have already been in the lake of fire during that 1000 year period.
Just by reading the above from Revelation 20 we can see that the word THOUSAND means a literal 1000 years. There is no other logical alternative!
It is amazing how the amillennialist twists Scripture for force it into their pet false doctrine. Why do they only redefine the word 'thousand' in the book of Revelation? Why not do it in other places in the Bible? They could at least be consistent and redefine the word 'thousand' in every occurrence in Scripture.
Lets look at another Scripture that uses the word 'THOUSAND' and see if the word redefinition works here.
16 And unto Sarah he said, Behold, I have given thy brother a THOUSAND [pieces] of silver: behold, he [is] to thee a covering of the eyes, unto all that [are] with thee, and with all [other]: thus she was reproved.
Should the meaning of 'thousand' be redefined in the above verse? Would it make sense to say that 1000 pieces of silver were NOT given but rather ALL silver.... The 'silver on a thousand hills' ... if you get my drift! Why doesn't the amillennialist be consistent and use his redefined word everywhere the word 'thousand' occurs in the Bible. They don't because they only need to use word redefinition is where the Scriptures contradict their pet false doctrine.
Here is another verse that uses the word 'thousand'.
28 And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses: and there fell of the people that day about three THOUSAND men.
Should the redefined meaning for the word 'thousand' be used here also. Would it make sense if we interpreted the above verse to mean 'all men' or the 'men on a thousand hills'? It wouldn't make sense to me. I think three thousand means three thousand! It also makes perfect sense that Revelation chapter 20 is referring to a literal 1000 year period and not some 'spiritual symbolic' thing like the amillennialist would have you to believe.
I have a saying that I made up about people who twist Scripture and turn literal things in Scriptures into spiritual things: 'They spiritualize the literal which makes them oblivious to the obvious!' What a dangerous thing to do!
I hope my examples show that the concept of word redefinition is quit deceptive and dangerous. The word 'thousand' cannot be redefined in Revelation chapter 20 to mean something other than 999 + 1. However against all reason the amillennialist has done such a thing. Please re-read the above if you don't understand the concept of word redefinition and do not let yourself be caught in such a demonic trap.
In this tract we have proved that God is not finished with the nation of Israel. The greatest proof is their existence in the world today...against all odds. We covered several Scriptures that support the nation of Israel and the fact that God is not finished with them. We also looked at the concept of word redefinition. By using word redefinition the amillennialist can twist and pervert Scripture making literal things into 'spiritualized symbolic' things. We saw that the amillennialist was not consistent in their use of word redefinition. Words were redefined only in places needed to prove their pet perverted doctrine. The other verses that use the same word were ignored by them.
So what do we conclude by all this? Are amillennialists hell bound deceiving false prophets? Well not all of them. Some of them may be truly saved but just totally useless in the area of Bible prophecy. It is usually a good warning signal if someone is totally messed up in Bible prophecy. It is also possible that they may also be wrong in the basics of the Bible, like the plan of salvation.
Will the amillennialist listen to this tract? I personally don't think so....unless God supernaturally opens their eyes. They are so busy spiritualizing literal things in Scripture that it is often hard to reason with them. What do you say to a person who spiritualizes/symbolizes everything you say? It is difficult.
However this tract is a excellent tool for someone who has run into this doctrine and wants some Biblical answers. Hopefully after reading this, most people with common sense will see that God still has a plan for the nation of Israel.
