6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having
the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the
earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him;
for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that
made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains
of waters.
8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is
fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all
nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice,
If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his
mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which
is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation;
and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence
of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever:
and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and
his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Today I hear the odd person worried that somehow they will be tricked into accepting the mark of the beast. For example when credit cards first came out many refused because some people thought it could be the mark of the beast. The same is true of other technologies.
I want to call your attention to the above verses. There is something very interesting mentioned above in relation to receiving the mark of the beast. First, let me make one thing very clear! No one will be tricked into accepting the mark of the beast. Everyone who receives the mark will do so by an act of their will to bow the knee and to worship Satan and his antichrist. So there is really no need to fear a new credit card or anything!
I want you to look at verse 9 above. In that verse there is a description of what the third angel says to the people living on earth. Notice his words:
"If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, ...."
The third angel starts his message in verse 9 and continues through verse 11. He warns people that if they receive the mark of the beast they will perish in hell and be forever lost!
Here is a quick warning: Be very aware of the doctrinally unsound Left Behind series that says people can receive the mark of the beast and not perish! This is a lie from hell and LayHaye will surely answer to God for it!
At any rate, this third angel makes a loud proclamation to the people on earth warning them not to accept the mark of the beast. This tells us something doesn't it! No one will be tricked into accepting the mark of the beast. Before the devil and his antichrist issue the mark of the beast, God will send an angel to warn the people on planet earth not to receive this mark and to bow the knee to Satan! People who receive the mark of the beast will be totally without excuse for doing so. They were warned even by an angel from God not to accept Satan's mark of the beast! Sadly, many in those days who hate God will gladly accept Satan's mark of the beast!
SUPERNATURAL EVENTS?
These Scriptures also reveal another thing. In those days people will see the angels of God and hear what they have to say. I'm going to assume that people will also see demons from hell in those days as well. People will see supernatural beings along with all kinds of miracles and deceptions.
Today things are quite different. Many don't even believe in the supernatural. Angels, demons, the devil are just make-believe to many people. However, after the rapture things will change.
God will remove His restraint on evil. I believe demons will openly manifest themselves to people. They will come and appear as "friendly aliens" here to help humanity. In those days people will see these demons walking among us. Today people are being prepared for the revelation of demons as friendly aliens by all the TV shows and movies over the last 40 years.
Since the supernatural realm will be opened in those days, the Bible indicates that mankind will also see some angels of God. These angels will give warnings to those who live on the earth. One of those angels will warn people not to take the mark of the beast. Keep in mind people will see and hear this angel of God. In those days people will see angels and demons. This is something we cannot see today!
CONCLUSION
There is no need to worry about someone getting 'tricked' into accepting the mark of the beast today. Remember the mark of the beast will be given during the reign of the antichrist. Also remember that in order to receive the mark of the beast a person must be willing to bow their knee and to worship Satan and his antichrist beast. No one will be tricked! Every one who accepts the mark of the beast will do so by a conscious act of their will. As a result God will hold these people accountable and they will forever perish and burn in the lake of fire.
Don't listen to the lies of the writers of the Left Behind series who present the lie that a person can receive the mark of the beast and still go to heaven. They have lied and deceived and will one day give account to God for misleading people.
Today the technology for the mark of the beast is being setup. We have very powerful computers, credit cards, RFID chips and other technologies. When it is time for the antichrist to issue his mark of the beast the technology will be ready and waiting for him to use.
But the mark of the beast is not an issue for the Christians alive
today. We will be going home to be with the Lord in the rapture.
At that time God will remove His restraint on evil and allow the
antichrist to rise to power. Just looking at the advances in
technology and the troubles in the world, I would say the rapture
is not too far off!
