No Christian Unity Apart From The Catholic Church

(820) “Christ bestowed unity on his Church from the beginning. This unity, we believe, subsists in the Catholic Church as something she can never lose, and we hope that it will continue to increase until the end of time.” Christ always gives his Church the gift of unity, but the Church must always pray and work to maintain, reinforce, and perfect the unity that Christ wills for her. This is why Jesus himself prayed at the hour of his Passion, and does not cease praying to his Father, for the unity of his disciples: “That they may all be one. As you, Father, are in me and I am in you, may they also be one in us, . . . so that the world may know that you have sent me.” The desire to recover the unity of all Christians is a gift of Christ and a call of the Holy Spirit. (Page 236)

All who have received (put their trust in) Jesus as Savior are one in the body of Christ, not in a man made institution. We are united through baptism of the Holy Spirit in one body through our faith in Jesus Christ. We are separated upon this earth through theology. Truth and doctrine divide. Jesus was not for everybody getting together. When men got together at the Tower of Babel men begin to devise their own religion, and build their own tower to Heaven. God divided men and confounded their language to keep them from coming together.

Romans 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Galatians 3:26-28 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Genesis 11:5-8 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is ONE, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.

God hasn’t changed his mind, He is still the same.

Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I CHANGE NOT; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ THE SAME yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Look at what Jesus said about unity.

Luke 12:51-53 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather DIVISION: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be DIVIDED against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

You see, the Gospel of Jesus Christ divides people. The truth divides, that is why many who start out reading this will not make it this far, because truth and doctrine divide. It does not unite!
