Here is what the Bible says about Damascus:
Isaiah 17
1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a
city, and it shall be a ruinous heap
So far this prophecy in Isaiah has never been fulfilled. Damascus is one of the oldest existing cities in the world and it has never been a "runious heap". Yet God pronounces their utter destruction and one day it will come to pass!
One day the city will be completely leveled to the ground. Imagine a big, busy, thriving city being reduced to a ruinous heap. Also, a ruinous heap sounds like the devastation caused by nuclear bombs.
When will this happen? Well this coming war (World War 3) is a good possibility. The USA is ready to attack Iraq and will do so in the near future. It has been reported that Sadaam has removed some of his deadly weapons of mass destruction and given them to both Syria and Lebanon. Plus Syria has their own weapons of mass destruction. They already have chemical and biological warheads and are currently doing all they can do to obtain nuclear weapons. Syria is also the sworn enemy of Israel and they seek their complete destruction. They are one of the many Muslim nations who are actively seeking the complete destruction of the nation of Israel.
Once the war starts, Israel will have good reason to hit Syria and to hit them hard. If Syria succeeds in delivering just one biological or chemical warhead in a populated zone in Israel, the death toll can be very high. Israel is not a huge nation and just one good delivery of a weapon of mass destruction can do untold damage. This means if Syria becomes a realistic threat in this war, Israel may be forced to use nuclear weapons to deal with the Syrian threat. This reaction and use of nuclear bombs can quickly turn Damascus into a ruinous heap of rocks and debris.
Here is the verse again. Read it and lets all watch and see if the time for the fulfillment is near. Perhaps this coming war will fulfill the below verse:
