8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when
the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
In days past, I used to wonder about the meaning of the above verse. How can the Lord Jesus return to earth and indicate He may have trouble finding saved people on earth? Finding people with faith means finding people with a saving faith in the Lord Jesus. Above the Lord is asking if He will find faith on earth and He is implying how much (or little) He will find.
Back in the 1980's, I just didn't understand that there was a day coming when there would be a huge falling away from the Christian faith. In those days it was pretty easy to find a good Bible believing church and there were many who professed a saving faith in the Lord Jesus. However, over the years, I've noticed that everyone that can fall away has fallen away from the Lord or is in the process of doing so. It seems we now are living in the days when the tares are in full bloom. Back in the 1980's the tares were either young or more disguised. However, today there are all kinds of sound doctrine rejecting tares who claim to be "Christian". These tares are an enemy to the Bible and to sound Biblical doctrine.
Over the years, I've seen many people glide into the enjoyment of the occult by using the silly argument that its OK because the author is a "Christian". People who used to be (as I thought) solid in doctrine, have fallen into compromise. I've seen others get obsessed with Satan's rock and roll music and over time fall into doctrinal error, compromise, and heresy.
But all this is to be expected in light of the following verse:
2 Thess 2
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not
come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of
sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Notice before the antichrist comes to power there will be a massive falling away from Biblical Christianity. This includes a rejection of sound Biblical doctrine. This is the point that I didn't understand way back in the 1980's. I just never realized in those days that the apostasy of this current day would be so great. I never thought I would see people call themselves "Christian" and enjoy movies and books that are nothing more than witchcraft training manuals. This was just not an issue back in the 1980's. Everyone who professed the name of Jesus knew the occult was wrong and evil in those days.
In fact the only people involved in the occult were lost people who went to fortune tellers, did tarot cards, or got into spiritism, or played occult games like dungeons and dragons. Christians wanted no part of the occult and were not open to the suggestion back in the 1980's.
Today things have changed! Many professing Christians have accepted and freely enjoy all forms of witchcraft. There are occult movies and books of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Plus there are all kinds of occult toys and computer games for children of all ages.
I have given several warnings about Satan's world of the occult. Back in the 1980's the Christians would have said - Amen! Today however, I have heard from the most nasty people who attack and mock anyone who warns of their love of the occult. Of course these tares end their rantings with something silly like "in Christ" or they try to state that the are "Christian". These deceived occult lovers are not In Christ. They belong to the devil and they share the same love of darkness as he does!
Of course back in the 1980's we had our battles with those who were pushing religious rock music in the church. I've heard all the foolish arguments and talked to many people addicted to Satan's music. Today the devil has clearly won the battle. In these days of apostasy many tares and professing Christian churches have given themselves over to Satan's rock and roll music in all its ugly forms. As a result doctrinal heresy has followed close behind in every church and with every professing Christian who has embraced rock music.
All the occultism and love of rock music is a part of these last days falling away from the Christian faith. Satan's tares are now fully matured and ready for their role in the kingdom of the antichrist. Back in the 1980's the tares were hard to spot. Today, however that is not the case. A Satanic tare can be easily seen as they claim to be 'Christian'. These tares love their occultism, rock music, compromise with Romanism, sexual immorality, and doctrinal heresy.
So when the Lord Jesus asked if He would find faith when He returned, it really applies to the current days in which we live. The days when the Lord returns will be days of apostasy and falling away.
THE RAPTURE
Before the antichrist comes to power, the rapture of the Church will occur. However, the characteristic of those days will be a massive apostasy and falling away from the Christian faith. This is very important because people must be ready to accept the antichrist and his kingdom. There will be all kinds of occultism, rock music, immorality, and heresies in the kingdom of the antichrist. Today many people have been prepared and are open to receive all that Satan has to offer them.
Back in the 1980's the time was not ripe for the antichrist as too many people still were not willing to receive all the evil Satan has for them. Today, this is not the case. People want nothing to do with the Bible, separation from evil, or living a holy life before the Lord. Instead, they want their sins of occultism, immorality, and false teachings.
Right now we are living in a world ripe and ready to receive Satan's antichrist. Here is an example: The sin of homosexuality by itself does not bring down the judgment of God. Instead, before the sin of sodomy must come the acceptance of sodomy. The acceptance of the sin of sodomy brings the judgment of God. The open manifestation of that sin happens long after the condemnation of God and the giving over to a reprobate mind! Think about that! Gay marriages and sodomy is an issue to the reprobate and Christ rejectors only. Before the sin was openly manifest, it first had to become acceptable. That acceptance is the condemnation before the Lord! After condemnation when these people have been given over to a reprobate mind, do we see the sin of sodomy prospered in society like it is today. However, God's judgment and condemnation was set at the point of acceptance of the sin.
Right now the whole world is ripe for judgment! This is why Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings can do so well on a world-wide level! Rock music, occultism, all forms of immorality have become acceptable in the world. At the same time the Bible and God's people who stand for righteousness and holiness are rejected and mocked.
All this is a major sign of the soon return of the Lord! We are now living in great days of apostasy and falling away. Will the Lord find saving faith when He returns? Yes, He will but it will not be in the massive numbers as I thought in the 1980's! The tares are now in full bloom are ready to accept Satan's kingdom of the antichrist.
Here is a thought! If the world is ripe and ready right now for the coming antichrist then how soon the rapture must be! If the tares are in full bloom then how soon the rapture must be! If anyone who can fall away has done so or is in the process, then how soon the rapture must be! If the world is mocking God by their acceptance of occultism, rock music, heresies, baby murders, sodomy etc, then how soon the rapture must be!

Luke 21
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and
lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
When we can see all the signs pointing to the return of the Lord, then we know the rapture is near. However, always keep in mind that no one can give a date of the rapture. Many have tried and all have failed. The dates have been set by the Lord and our job is not to guess the date but rather to be found faithful when He returns. The good news is that all indications point to the soon return of the Lord Jesus to rapture home His blood bought Church!
In these last days true saving faith will be found when the Lord returns but it will be rare. Good Bible based churches can still be found but they too, are getting rare. These are very exciting days in light of Bible prophecy. Imagine being part of the last generation of Christians before the rapture of the Church! All I can say is stay faithful and keep your eyes and your trust in the Lord Jesus!
