In this article we will discuss how people can be deceived into following the antichrist and worshiping the devil? The very thought of doing such a thing is repulsive to the average person. However the day is coming when people will literally bow their knee to the antichrist and worship Satan as they receive the mark of the beast. We will examine the downhill process where such a repulsive act will be turned around to become acceptable and desired by all the lost people of the world. Keep in mind that such a process will not occur overnight. Satan has been working for many years to prepare the hearts of lost mankind for the acceptance of the kingdom of the antichrist and the worship of the beast.
Here is a summary of that process: First there must be a moral falling away. Next there must be a great apostasy as Biblical doctrine is rejected. The world of the occult must become popular and acceptable. Finally the sin of sodomy (homosexuality) must become legalized and acceptable in society. After all this, at some point God will rapture home His Church to heaven and release the great delusion to the world. After the rapture the antichrist will be free to rise to power and he will utterly amaze and deceive the world with technology, miracles, and lying wonders.
Lets start by looking at the moral falling away:
MORAL FALLING AWAY
This falling away has not happened overnight. Instead, slowly over the last 50-70 years Godly moral standards have been eroded to their present Satanic levels. There was a day when divorce was considered taboo. Pre-maritial sex was considered wrong and the sin of sodomy was not an issue at all. People were careful about was was said and shown on TV and movies could be attended without curse words. Boy! Things have changed. Here is a summary of the downward process used to get us to our current base level.
- Rock music. It started secular and soon was introduced in the churches as 'religious rock'. Soon the barrier between religious rock and secular rock disappeared and today there is just rock music. The professing Christian church has given full approval for this moral filth. Rock music has lots of Satanic fruit to go with it. Here is a partial list: rebellion, drugs, sex, worldliness, and blasphemy.
- TV and movies. Today TV and movies seem to be having a contest as to how low they can go morally. Anything fithly or shocking is fair game for the latest shows. People are so de-sensitized that they are no longer bothered by viewing horrible acts on the television.
- Legalizing of immorality. Society grants full rights for the immoral. Those who dare to speak out are considered hateful and in some cases open to the latest 'hate laws'. Satan wants full reign to prosper sexual immorality and he has suceeded.
- Acceptance of abortion and the murder of millions of innocent children. Murder is legalized and babies in the womb are open targets. All this shedding of innocent blood will one day bring down the wrath of God.
- Acceptance of morals once rejected and considered shameful (adultery, fornication, sodomy). Today it is considered normal for two people to 'live together' before marriage. Sodomites now have legal rights for marriage. Divorce is rampant where some people have exceeded three times divorced/remarried. Many don't even bother with marriage but simply live together instead.
APOSTASY AS BIBLICAL DOCTRINE IS REJECTED
As the morals collapse and Satanic morals are accepted, the next step on the way to accept the antichrist is for apostasy within the Church. Today there are many churches that were once solid in the faith but have rejected sound Biblical doctrine. These churches are very liberal as they seek to imitate the world and to please lost mankind instead of pleasing the Lord. Liberal churches accept the morals of society. They have accepted morals including fornication, divorces, woman preachers, and even sodomites as acceptable church members.
Here are some stepping stones down the pathway of apostasy:
- Biblical doctrine is considered intolerant and unloving. People have no heart for sound Biblical doctrine. In fact sound doctrine is tiresome and the people would rather be entertained by the latest 'concert', puppets, etc. Some church services are beginning to look like a broadway show with very little gospel and lots of entertainment.
- Wolves and false teachers prosper and command: don't judge or touch (the devils') annointed. False teachers like to think of themselves as above reproach. In fact if anyone dares to compare their false teachings with the Scriptures, rage and threats start! People are told they have been rejected by God because they dared to 'touch' one of God's annointed. Sadly, wolves prosper in days of apostasy.
- People refuse to attend a solid Bible believing church. Many are loyal to their church and not the Lord Jesus. If the church falls into apostasy such people will not leave. Instead they will stay as good members and over time become just as apostate as their church!
- People don't read the Word of God on a regular basis. This opens them up to deception and false teachings.
- Love of the world with all its toys and wealth to be gained. (He who dies with the most toys wins!) We all need finances to survive in this world. However a love of worldly wealth is a sin before the Lord. Instead the Lord wants His people to be totally depentant upon Him. He will meet the needs of His children!
- Acceptance of evolution and rejection of Biblical creation. Evolution is a great lie and deception and it has been taught as fact in schools, TV documentaries, museums etc for many years now. Lost men have found a way to explain the created universe and to exclude God from that process. It is also a way for lost men and women to completely reject the Bible. If evolution is true then there is no need for the Bible. The Bible clearly says that God created the heavens and the earth. Once that concept is rejected by accepting the pseudo-science theory of evolution, there is no more need for the Bible.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE OCCULT
The occult has always been present. But in days past only the freaks of society really got heavily into it. Most people naturally would not be involved in witchcraft, spells, wizardry, fortunetelling, tarot c ards etc. These are very severe sins before the Lord. In fact, the Lord calls such sins an abomination to Him and spiritual adultery. In Old Testament days the sin of the occult was a crime that received the death penalty.
Over the years, a slow introduction of the occult was used by astrology in the newspapers and cash checkouts. Light witchcraft shown in cartoons and fantasy stories for children made the occult look harmless and fun. Over time people were exposed to more and more occultism in TV, newspapers, toys (ouji boards etc), movies, rock music, and books.
Currently the occult has been made very popular and attractive by the devil.
The heavy occultism promoted via Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings have been accepted by both the young and old. Sadly, I must also say the false professing Christian tare in liberal-dead churches have also accepted the occult. Both Potter and Lord of the Rings are literal witchcraft training manuals as they give a very accurate presentation and introduction to the real world of occultism.
The occult is now encouraged and is very acceptable in society and in public schools while the Bible is rejected.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE SIN OF SODOMY
In days past, sodomites were in the closets. Their sin was rejected and considered disgusting by the majority of society.
With the moral falling away and terrible apostasy, Satan felt it was time to open the closet and bring out the sin of sodomy for acceptance in society. Sadly, he has succeeded.
The sin of sodomy is a very serious sin and marks the last stage in a civilization before the Lord destroys it by Divine judgment. The entire world is now in the process of accepting the sin of sodomy. What God did to Sodom and Gomorrah is an example to us today! Any nation that travels the same path will receive the same judgment from the Lord!
THE GOAL OF THE FALLING AWAY IS TO PREPARE THE HEARTS OF THE LOST TO ACCEPT THE ANTICHRIST
The goal of all this falling away is to prepare the hearts of lost people. As a rule people will not just accept the antichrist and Satan worship. They must be led down a hellish path morally and spiritually until they reach a point where the kingdom of the antichrist becomes acceptable. People's hearts must be so conditioned and the Lord rejected to a point where the antichrist will be accepted.
One day soon, people will accept and love Satan's antichrist and will gladly accept the mark of the beast and give their worship to Satan. On the other hand, these same people will hate the people of God. They will also hate God and His Word and seek to remove all influence from the earth. Over the last 50-70 years we have witnessed the spiritual conditioning required for people to accept all that Satan has to offer. Right now we are really close to that time when Satan will be given the permission by God to raise up his antichrist. That permission will be given after the rapture of the Church.
THE COMING GREAT DELUSION
After the rapture God will permit a huge deception to come upon the world. All those who have heard and rejected the Gospel will believe this deception with all their hearts. Lets look at the events described in 2 Thessalonians that lead up to the great deception.
2 Thessalonians 2
1. Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ,
and [by] our gathering together unto him,
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit,
nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is
at hand.
Second Thessalonians begins with an admonition to the Christians of Paul's day not to be troubled that the day of Christ has already happened. Paul goes on to describe some of the events that will occur during that time period:
3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
First there will be a great falling away from sound Biblical truth. There will be a famine in the land... a famine toward the Word of God. That is certainly true today. We have a famine in the land and few are even interested in learning about the Bible and the ways of God. Next Paul mentions that along with a great apostasy - or falling away from Biblical doctrine - the antichrist will rise to power. He is described as the 'son of perdition'. He is a loser in the highest degree. Paul goes on to describe the antichrist:
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Midway in the 70th week of Daniels prophecy the antichrist will commit the abomination of desolation mentioned in Daniel and Matthew. Here the antichrist will enter into the rebuilt Temple in Jerusalem and there proclaim himself to be God. He will actually sit in the Temple and claim to be God.
5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these
things?
6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed
in his time.
Paul goes on to tell the Thessalonians that there is something withholding the revealing of the man of sin, the son of perdition. He will certainly be revealed to the world but only in the time allowed so by God Almighty.
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way.
Here Paul is describing the restrainer that is holding back the evil in this world. He describes it as the 'mystery of iniquity'... the evil works of the devil. He mentions that it is a person restraining this evil (letteth - to restrain). That person is the Holy Spirit which is now residing inside the Church! However He that restrains (letteth) will one day be taken out of the way. Now how can the Holy Spirit be taken out or removed? Well He can't! The Holy Spirit is omni-present meaning He is present everywhere at all times. However the Church can be removed and this will happen at the rapture. At this point the Holy Spirit restraining evil from within the Church will be removed. The restraining influence of a Holy Spirit filled, praying, interceding Church will be removed. What happens when this happens??? Look at the next verse:
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Once the restrainer is removed the antichrist will be free to rise to power for his 'short' time here on earth. When the Lord Jesus returns to earth at the climax of the battle of Armageddon, the antichrist and his kingdom will be destroyed!
9 [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
When the antichrist comes to power he will do so by the power of the devil himself. During that time there will be all kinds of evil satanic miracles and lying wonders to deceive the lost.
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
For those who have rejected the Lord Jesus Christ they will be totally deceived. Since they rejected the love of the truth (the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ) they will be deceived. Their end result will be to perish in the lake of fire -- forever.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
Now we have come to the great delusion sent by the Lord. God is going to allow a strong delusion to come upon the world after the rapture. We saw above that the antichrist will be allowed to come to power after the restrainer is removed or taken away. At the rapture of the Church the restrainer of the wicked one is removed. The devil will be free to bring his antichrist to power to rule and reign on planet earth. Along with all the deceptions and satanic miracles, God will send a strong delusion so that the lost will believe a lie. Why does God want those who have rejected the truth to believe a lie? See verse 12 below:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
The purpose of the GREAT DELUSION that will come upon the world will be to allow the lost to be deceived and perish. Since the lost have rejected the truth they will be given a lie to believe with all their hearts.
That is a warning to everyone who is reading this tract. If you have heard the Gospel and still rejected it, one day soon the Lord God will send a delusion that you will believe with all your heart. The end result will be eternity in the lake of fire - hell.
Now who will believe this great delusion - or lie? It will be all the people who have heard the Gospel and totally rejected it. It is a very serious thing to hear the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and the salvation He freely offers ... and to reject it. One day soon it will be too late as God will send that delusion to the Christ rejectors of this world. This does not mean that there will be no one saved during the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy. In the coming days people will be given a choice. It will literally be between God and Satan. Those who choose Satan will gladly give him their loyalty and receive his mark of the beast. The people who receive the Lord Jesus will seal their testimony with their own death. The followers of the antichrist will hunt down and kill the people of God in those wicked days.
WHAT IS THE GREAT DELUSION?
The Bible doesn't tell us in detail what exactly this deception is. However I have a good guess as to what it may be related to.
We know that before the return of the Lord Jesus at the consummation of this age there will be a manifestation of the powers of darkness on earth. Satan and his demons will perform 'signs and lying wonders' with the goal of deceiving mankind.
There is a great deception coming into the world. All who reject the truth of the Gospel of salvation by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will believe this lie. Could UFO's and contact with alien beings be a part of this deception? I think it is! The following are the major beliefs or Theology of UFO'ology:
1) God is not a personal being. God is an impersonal force
2) The Bible is not God's only revelation to man
3) The Lord Jesus Christ is not the only Saviour
4) There is no eternal punishment or hell
5) There is no resurrection from the dead
6) Man himself can evolve from planet to planet to perfection by reincarnation
7) Mankind evolved and was not created by a 'God'.
The world has been setup to receive this lie of UFOs and beings from other worlds. Through the foundations of atheism and evolution God has been removed from the scene by most in academic land. Next TV and movies have popularized space themes and contact with other races who are also 'evolving' as the human race is (supposedly). The sad thing is that many take things meant for fiction too literally. Aliens and contact with other beings is a major theme in the movies and on TV these days. All this is preparing people to accept the great delusion after the rapture.
One day, after the rapture, the antichrist will come to power. There will be open contact with extra-dimensional beings (demons) who claim to be aliens. They will make many godless claims and have the false miracles and (technology) to back them up. All those who reject the Lord Jesus Christ will totally accept this deception of the devil.
There will be all kinds of evidence... like proof of some kind that there is life in space... or whatever... to give some credibility to the great deception coming on the world. I believe these aliens (demons) will show the world scientific advances that currently do not exist. People will be awed by the technology and will be utterly deceived. Many will accept these lies from the devil and they will then have their excuse to totally reject the Bible and God (unto the perishing of their souls). The goal will be to present alien beings from another world with advanced technology who are here to help mankind with their evolution. Along with all these claims comes the rejection of the Bible. Satan will have all kinds of false deceptive evidence to present to the people of the world and the Bible will be utterly rejected and dismissed as nonsense and mythology. The antichrist will be very popular and will be loved by all the lost people of this world. Beware, these days are coming and they are coming very quickly!
Another interesting point about UFO's and contact with 'aliens' can also be seen in that the world of the occult (psychics, mediums, etc.) has embraced UFO's and contact with 'alien beings'. The occultists frequently speak about our 'friendly' space brothers who wish to help mankind with their superior knowledge and technology. Channeling (spiritism) is one way to get in contact with these 'space beings' (demons in disguise). Also, people involved in the occult are the ones who come in contact with the aliens or demons.
The Bible warns:
1 Tim 4
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some
shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and
doctrines of devils
The coming deception will literally be doctrines of devils openly presented to the world. Again I repeat, ALL who have heard the Gospel and rejected it in their heart will accept and believe this great deception. Since they rejected the truth God will allow them to believe a lie with all their hearts. The end result will be that the lost will perish forever in the lake of fire -- separated from God. It is not a light thing to hear the Gospel and then to reject the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible clearly says:
2 Corinthians 6
2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the
day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now [is] the
accepted time; behold, now [is] the day of salvation.)
Today, today, today is the day of salvation. There is no promise for tomorrow. If you hear the Gospel today and reject it then there is no promise for tomorrow. Tomorrow may come or it may not. Tomorrow may hold the great deception and it will be too late for you! Your own eternal soul is not something to be considered lightly.
YOU MUST MAKE A CHOICE AND DO IT NOW!
As you can see Satan has laid down the moral foundations for his kingdom of the antichrist. Right now the world is ripe for judgment! People have been conditioned by immorality, apostasy, and occultism to receive the antichrist when the time is right. It looks like that time is getting very close! I hope you have made your choice by accepting the Lord Jesus as your Lord and Saviour! It is an eternal decision!
