Right up to the very end of the age lost men and women will refuse to worship God. They will gladly worship the devil and engage in his works. Ultimately God is rejected while the things of the devil is accepted.
Here is a verse that describes the actions of lost people right up until the end of the age:
Rev 9
20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet
repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship
devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of
wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries,
nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
It is interesting to note that these lost people refused to repent of their Satanic works. They loved darkness and rejected God. They refused to turn from their wicked ways. They were willing to worship devils and idols and to commit all kinds of sins.
Let me go a step further. Even though they knew God existed they still rejected Him. They willingly turned to the devil and willingly refused to repent and turn to God.
Verse 20 indicates that during the last days after the rapture, idol worship will still be practiced. Today Catholics pray to their statues as do the Hindus and other false religions. Yet after the rapture the world will see the rise of the antichrist to power. The devil will demand the world to worship his antichrist. Part of that worship will involve the worship of some kind of idol named after the antichrist. It will be a piece of wood or stone carved and painted to represent the demonic. Lost men and women will worship the devil's idols and refuse to repent.
It is really foolish to worship an idol in any form as they are made of dead material such as wood or stone. Like the Bible says, they cannot see, hear, or speak, yet lost men still worship idols! If you think about it, to worship an idol is very foolish! But lost men who reject God will literally worship anything!
After the rapture lost people will still worship idols. In fact the Bible indicates that the devil will provide lots of idol worship for the lost. These lost people will endure the judgments of God yet still refuse to repent from their idol worship!
In the end when they perish in hell, it will be a place where they have chosen to go. Lost men and women reject God and by doing so, choose the devil, death, and hell! Here are some very sobering verses that warn about the eternal home of the lost Christ rejecting sinner. Notice verse 11 below where the lost people are worshipping the beast and his image (idol). Idol worship is a part of the devil's plan!
Rev 14
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured
out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be
tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels,
and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and
they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image,
and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Rev 20
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the
second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast
into the lake of fire.
Rev 21
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers,
and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall
have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:
which is the second death.
Perishing in hell is a terrible fate. There is no need to perish and die in your sins. God became a man and died on the cross to pay for the sins of the world. Right now anyone who wishes may repent and humbly accept God's love gift of salvation and eternal life. I'm talking about a life and death issue here!
You will live forever. Your spirit or your conscience will never die. After this life is over you will still be alive. You will live forever either in heaven or in hell. The choice is up to you! If you wish to reject God and pay for your own sins in hell, then God will honor that decision. It is a stupid decision but God will honor it. On the other hand if you wish to come to the Lord Jesus and accept Him into your heart as your Lord and Saviour, then God will honor that as well. He wants people to be saved. He loves you so much that he bore the entire penalty for your sin on the cross. Jesus paid the price for your sin so you would not have to. The penalty for sin is eternal torment in hell, the lake of fire. The Lord Jesus paid that price for sin on the cross and He now offers salvation as a gift. Will you be receiving or rejecting that gift?
The Lord Jesus calls today! Don't reject salvation and eternal life! The choice is up to you. God has already provided salvation. It's your choice and you have a choice to make. Remember to make no decision is the same as rejection! Either accept or reject the Lord Jesus as your Saviour. Make that decision today as tomorrow may be too late!
Isa 1
18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your
sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red
like crimson, they shall be as wool.
