WRONG ENOUGH TO LOSE YOUR ETERNAL SOUL

by Alan Yusko

In these last days sound Biblical doctrine is under attack. Many attack and deny the foundations of the Christian faith. One such foundation of the fact of the Trinity. There is only one God but He exists as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This means the Lord Jesus is God in human flesh.

The doctrine of the Trinity is so important that to deny it is to lose ones soul. If person is wrong about God and who He is then that person is wrong enough to lose his soul for all eternity. If person does not believe that the Lord Jesus is God manifest in human flesh then that person is forever lost!

Here is what the Lord Jesus says:

John 8
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Here is what the above verse means:
- if you do not believe the Lord Jesus is the only Saviour, you will die in your sins
- If you do not believe the Lord Jesus is God in human flesh (I AM), you will die in your sins

The Lord Jesus took the Divine I AM and applied it to Himself. Here is where God told it to Moses when he asked Him His name:

Exodus 3
13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?
14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Above Moses is told by God that He is the great I AM. Moses understood this and so did the Jews below who were talking to the Lord Jesus:

John 8
54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God:
55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Notice verse 58 where the Lord Jesus took the Divine I AM and applied it to Himself. There was no mistake in the meaning of what He said. Immediately the Jews picked up stones to cast at the Lord Jesus. They fully understood that when the Lord Jesus used the Divine I AM that He was calling Himself God in human flesh.

There was another instance when the Lord Jesus openly claimed to be God. Again the Jews fully understood what He said:

John 10
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
30 I and my Father are one.
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.
32 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Look at verse 30 above then at verse 31. Notice again the Jews picked up stones to stone the Lord Jesus. In verse 32 the Lord Jesus asked them why they wanted to stone Him to death. In verse 33 they answered because of blasphemy. They fully understood that the Lord Jesus had just made a claim to be God in human flesh!

In light of this it is easy to understand how a person will die in their sins if they embrace a wrong belief in God and who He is. The Lord Jesus was very serious when He warned that a wrong belief in His the fact that He is God in human flesh would result in dying in your sins.

John 8
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

God has become a man and He walked among us. See below:

John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
...
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth

God was made flesh and that is who the Lord Jesus is. He came to die on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins as our substitute. Today men must choose to accept or to reject the Lord Jesus as their Saviour. Those who reject the Lord Jesus are saying to God that they will pay penalty for sin instead of the Lord Jesus. Sadly, the penalty for sin is eternity suffering in hell, the lake of fire.

CONCLUSION

In these very last days there are many who would dare to pervert the Gospel. Many who claim to be Christians deny the foundational beliefs of the Christian faith. One of them is the doctrine of the Trinity. All those who deny the Trinity are not saved and are hellbound sinners. Since they do not believe the Lord Jesus is who He said He was (God manifest in human flesh and the second Person of the Trinity), these people will die in their sins and forever be lost.

The Trinity is a very important belief and is an essential doctrine of the Christian faith!

Acts 4
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
