What makes fine gold a precious metal? The answer would be the fact that it is very scarce and hard to find. It's rareness makes the gold valuable.

This same rule will apply to mankind in the days ahead. What do I mean by this? The earth will soon come under the Divine judgment of God Almighty. After the judgment finishes there will not be the current 6 billion people alive! Mankind will become precious and rare because most will be dead and there will only be few survivors out of the current 6 billion people. Have a look at the below Scriptures as it talks of the day of judgment from God:

Isaiah 13
9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

Today we live in the time just before the rapture of the Church and the beginning of the 7 year tribulation period where the antichrist will rule the world. During that 7 year time period, God will judge the world and destroy the Christ rejecters (sinners) out of it. All the judgments can are described in chapters 5 through 18 in the book of Revelation. They are composed of 7 seal, 7 trumpet, and 7 vial judgments. At the end of these judgments, there will not be a whole lot of people living on earth. Perhaps, there will be a few million out of the current 6 billion people.

As we approach that time of judgment, the wicked will continue to grow more wicked and they get very close to the devil.

God lists a few broad reasons for this judgment on a world-wide scale. Here is the list of reasons:

Isa 13
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.

The above verse breaks down four reasons for judgment:
1)- Evil
2)- wicked for their iniquity (sin)
3)- arrogancy of the proud
4)- haughtiness of the terrible.

The world will be a very wicked place when judgment falls. Today we are witnessing the fall into sin and apostasy on a world-wide scale. The above four reasons can be broken down into two main categories: 1) evil and sin 2) pride

There can be no doubt that the world is a very evil place. Here are a few sins that will be judged:

- Murder. Babies in the womb are murdered. Old sickly people are murdered. Many people die in needless killing through wars. For example the USA and Britian dumped 4000 tons of DU on Iraq. As a result the people and their land are dead. This also includes the allied soldiers in and around Iraq.

- Sexual sin: Godly morals are not an option for the wicked. They want their immorality and they want it now! As a result there are all kinds of fornication's, adulteries, and perverse acts which are socially acceptable. Even sodomy is in the processes of legalization as is the definition of marriage. Don't be fooled, God is aware of all these sins and will one day destroy the wicked from the earth.

- Occult sin. The occult is an abomination against God. People who hate the Lord love Satan's world of the occult. Today there is a major revival of the occult thanks to Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Even professing Christians enjoy the occult and defend their freedom to commit an abomination against the Lord. (I stress the word -professing- very strongly!)

- Rejection of God, His Word the Bible, and His people. People who love darkness, sin, and evil, hate the light of the Word of God. The murderers, the immoral, and the occult lovers do not want anyone giving them Godly, Biblical rules to interfere with their love of sin and darkness. As a result there is a growing anger and rejection against God, the Bible, and God's people. In the days ahead when the antichrist rules, the wicked will be killing the people of God.

With all the sins of the world another sin is very obvious. It is the sin of pride. The wicked are a proud people. They have no regard or concern for God. The days we now live are like the days of Noah. For 120 years Noah warned the people of the judgment of God, and they just laughed and mocked. The same conditions exist today. The wicked are proud and haughty and have no time or care for God. The wicked want nothing to do with the God of heaven and they have no concern for hell and the lake of fire.

It is amazing to think that lost people are one heartbeat from an eternity burning in the lake of fire. But the lost are so proud that they cannot see the extreme danger to their eternal souls. Many rationalize that life is good now and think nothing of the lake of fire in which they are heading.

Speaking of pride, the only thing that can stop the judgment of God is for people to repent and turn from their sin. Do you think all the wicked Christ rejecters of this world will repent before God and confess and turn from sin? I certainly do not. This will not happen because of pride. Lost people are too proud, haughty, and self sufficient to humble themselves before God.

Judgment is coming. All the prophetic signs are pointing to the soon return of the Lord Jesus to rapture His church and then the time when the antichrist rises to power.

Over the last 50 years there has been a massive falling away from Biblical morality and Godly standards in the world. As each day passes sin becomes more acceptable and enjoyable to the lost Christ rejecting sinner. After the rapture all the restraint against sin and evil will be removed. At that time the antichrist will rule the world with the most evil and oppressive reign this world has ever seen.

In these days before the rapture it is very important for Christians to hold fast and cling to sound Biblical doctrine. Tares and false Christians may fall away and get into all kinds of evil and sin. But God's people will hold fast and even draw closer to the Lord in these evil days!

Luke 21
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
