Today many people are concerned about the mark of the beast. They know one day it will come upon the world and they just want to make sure they don't accidentally take the mark. Some have rejected bank or credit cards because of the computer technology.
The good news is you have nothing to worry about on this side of the rapture!
The technology is already here for the mark of the beast. It could easily be done today. However, it cannot happen until after the rapture when the antichrist rises to power. Plus, in order to get the mark a person must bow the knee and worship the beast and Satan. Only then will a person be able to receive the mark. No one will be tricked into receiving it. They will worship the devil by choice then receive his mark. This is why all those who receive the mark will be forever condemned to hell. Here is what the Bible says:
Rev 14
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice,
If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark
in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is
poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he
shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the
holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever:
and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his
image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
As you can see in the above verses, worship of the devil is connected to the mark of the beast. This mark will be given in the middle of the 7 year tribulation period (after the rapture). At this time the antichrist will enter the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem and there he will proclaim himself as God. He will then demand worship and issue the mark of the beast. Anyone not taking his mark will be subject to death. Those who receive the mark and worship the devil will be condemned to hell for all eternity!
Here is another thing to think about... All people who reject the Lord Jesus WILL receive the mark of the beast! People must make a choice between God and Satan. There is no middle ground!
