These are very sad days. On the one hand it is very exciting to be part of the last generation before the return of the Lord Jesus. On the other hand it is very sad. These are days of great apostasy and falling away. Many do not care about sound Biblical doctrine for themselves or their family. Sadly this also includes many professing Christian parents. These professing Christian parents may attend a professing Christian church or they may send their children to a professing Christian school.
The floodgates are open and Satan is sending out many evil and deceptive forms of entertainment and toys targeted to children. Parents give occultic toys to their children and either they don't care or they are totally blinded to the great dangers. No toy, game, book, or movie that uses witchcraft and spells is acceptable for a child. From witches in fairy tales to the hard-core occultism of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, the occult is to be rejected.
It is not just the occult that is dangerous to children. Rock and roll music is also very dangerous to the spiritual condition of children. Satan has used this demonic music to lead many young people to their destruction. Rock and roll is a tool of the devil to get people interested in the occult. Show me a person who likes rock music and I'll show you one who has a heart open to accept the occult. Today many young people listen to all forms of religious rock as well as secular rock and roll. Once a child is "weaned" with the religious rock music the change over to secular rock music is automatic. The child quickly figures out that it is all the same music! There is really no difference between religious rock and secular rock. It is the same music, style, sound, and appearance with the only difference being a few "God" words added to the religious rock. With all the occult and rock music in the lives of professing Christian children, I have only one question: Where are the parents who love the Lord enough to protect their children?
In this tract we are not going to look in detail at Satan's music. That topic is thoroughly covered in other articles on the Rapture Report website. Still the question remains the same. Where are the parents who love their children and the Lord Jesus Christ? I don't see loving parents when they allow their children to partake of Satan's music or the occult!
Lets look at the two current occultic fads with professing Christians. I'm speaking about Satan's Harry Potter and the demonic Lord of the Rings series. Children are reading the books, seeing the movies, and playing with the associated toys. All this is being done with the approval of discernmentless parents. Unfortunately, I'm talking about Church children. These are people who attend a professing Christian church or Christian school. Parents of these children are allowing their children to be exposed to all forms of occultism and witchcraft. For example, I'm aware of professing Christian parents who let their children read the Lord of the Rings books and see the occultic movies. The wizardry, spellcasting, witchcraft, and blatant occultism does not matter to these parents. All this is considered harmless fun and fantasy for their children. Remember, I'm talking about professing Christians who attend a professing Christian church or school. The other side of the coin is the lost hellbound sinner. The lost person naturally will accept and receive the popularizing of the occult in these last days. They are currently flocking to enjoy all the Satanism that Harry Potter and Lord of the Ring offers! But professing Christian parents really should know better than to allow occult involvement in their family!
Instead of discernment, I'm hearing lame excuses to justify the enjoyment of witchcraft, spells, and the occult. Here is the very popular excuse for Lord of the Rings. Are you ready? Here it is: "It's OK to read Lord of the Rings or see the movies because the author is a Christian". Wow! What an excuse! Here are two points to think about:
1) There is never any excuse for the occult and witchcraft. It
is an abomination to God and there is no excuse or justification
that can ever be given for it.
2) The author of Lord of the Rings is not a Christian. Instead he
is a Catholic who loves the occult, spells, and witchcraft! The
fruit of occultism shows the lost condition of the author's heart.
I would say professing Christian parents need to use some discernment in their excuse and justification of Satanism and witchcraft. Perhaps the underlying cause of all this justifying of evil is their lack of love for the Lord Jesus Christ. People who are truly Christian who love the Lord will not embrace and defend the occult.
Let me make another observation. This acceptance of the occult and witchcraft is also changing pastors of professing Christian churches and the leaders of Christian schools. These professing Christian leaders, who ought to know better, for some reason do not. They too are blinded and are not concerned about the occult coming into the church assembly or school where they are appointed stewards and leaders. The children are openly participating in witchcraft and the occult while the leaders who are aware of these things, do nothing!
Here is an example. Teachers and administrators of a Christian school are aware that the children under their charge are involved in the occultic Lord of the Rings stories. Children bring the occultic books to the professing Christian school and freely read them in class. The leaders know it is wrong and have been thoroughly warned. Yet they have chosen to do nothing. As the months pass the children get more interested and involved in the things of Satan. All this is acceptance of the occult is inviting the judgment or stern discipline of the Lord.
This reflects two major problems. First and foremost the parents are to blame! Where are the parents who are charged before God to raise a Godly seed? This involves protecting their children from occultic influences. Yet the parents do not seem to care as a small portion of their income goes to providing the occultic entertainment for their children. Secondly, The professing Christian leaders should know that wizardry, witchcraft, and occultism in any form is wrong and is not to be tolerated. Yet nothing is done about the situation so the children continue to drift away from God.
So far we have just discussed the occult that is being popularized by Satan and accepted by professing Christians. Keep in mind that Satan's rock and roll music is also a major problem with those who profess to know the Lord Jesus Christ. Again, parents who ought to know better, do not. Also, pastors and school administrators who should take action to protect those under their stewardship, do nothing. As a result children are into both secular and "religious" rock and roll music as well as the occult. The same parents who long ago gave their seal of approval to Satan's rock music are now doing the same with the occult. Here is what the Bible says about such actions:
Titus 1
16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny
him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good
work reprobate
This is very sad. You see there is no justification or excuse that can be given for the occult. It is such a serious sin before God that He calls it an abomination. Here is God's attitude to the occult:
Deut 18
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his
son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth
divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch.
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a
wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the
LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth
drive them out from before thee.
In the above verses it is very easy to see that all of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings entertainment offerings are to be rejected. This is not harmless fantasy but rather an abomination to God. People involved are not exercising their "Freedom in Christ" but rather they are showing that they do not love God.
CONCLUSION
Let me conclude by saying what every born-again Christian should know who is truly saved and loves the Lord Jesus. Both rock and roll and all forms of the occult are wrong and are to be avoided and rejected. The lost people of the world love rock and the occult but God's blood-bought people should reject these things of the devil.
What I just said is not a hard-to-understand concept for those who are truly born again and who truly love the Lord Jesus. It really is common sense. Witchcraft, wizardry, and the occult are all an abomination to God and are to be completely rejected. So do not try to come up with 101 excuses in a vain attempt to justify rock music or the occult! Instead, simply obey what the Word of God says.
In light of all this, professing Christian parents, where do you stand? Are you going to allow your children to be involved with rock and roll or the occult and witchcraft? Or do you plan to keep that demonic trash away from your family?
Understand this fact: One day you will stand before God and give an account. The evil seeds being planted with rock and roll and the occult in your children will one day come back to curse you and your family. If the goal is to raise up religious hypocrite children who are very close to Satan then just keep giving your children rock and roll and occultic entertainment. Rush out to buy more Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings if your goal is to destroy your children. The evil seed will take root in their tender hearts and it will bear demonic fruit over time.
Next, let me mention this to Church pastors and school administrators. If you are aware that the occult and rock and roll is evil and you do nothing, you will answer to God. To do nothing is to give indirect approval. Do not think that God is blind and your indirect approval of the occult will go unpunished. If you are in a position of Christian authority and leadership, then you are very accountable before God. Make no mistakes, God is aware of your actions or lack of actions. If you think children under your charge reading the latest occultic works of the devil is harmless, then be ready for the discipline or judgment of the Lord. It is not a light matter to allow children to drift into the occult while under the influences of your ministry.
People have choices to make in these days of great apostasy and falling away. The end result of that choice will be a walk with the Lord or a walk with the devil. People who accept Satan's rock and roll and the occult are walking with the devil. Those who are truly saved will reject those things and walk with the Lord Jesus!
