THE RAPTURE IN THE DAYS LIKE NOAH AND LOT!

This is bad news for the post tribulation error.
by Alan Yusko

The rapture will occur when life is going on in a normal fashion on earth. It will occur during a time of prosperity when people are buying, selling, marrying, planting, and harvesting. The rapture will NOT occur at the end of the 70th week of Daniel at the climax of the battle of Armageddon (like the post tribulationist claims). During that time the earth will have been devastated by the judgments and wrath of God. For example, All the grass and trees will be destroyed and all the water will be turned to blood. These will NOT be normal times. However the rapture occurs at a time when people least expect it. In this tract we will look at the conditions of the days of Noah and the days of Lot as we are told the return of the Lord will occur in similar conditions. The Lord Jesus will return at two separate occasions. The first is to rapture the Church with Him to heaven. The second is when Jesus will return as the Lion of Judah to destroy the Antichrist and to setup His 1000 year kingdom on earth. First the Lord comes for His Church and next he comes with His Church at the climax of the battle of Armageddon.

Of all the views on prophecy the pre-tribulation view is the only correct one. The pre-tribulation view is the only view that best fits into Scriptures. The other views have to pervert, twist, and ignore scriptures to defend their errors. However all non pre-tribulation views have one thing in common. They are all strangely united in their vicious attack against the pre-tribulation rapture. You never see the post tribulation rapture people attacking the pre-wrath view or vice versa. The mid tribulation people do not write books attacking the post tribulation rapture. Instead they all are strangely united in their attack against the pre tribulation rapture. I've noticed that some people go as far as to teach that the pre-tribulation rapture is the great deception of the last days. Others, claim a person who follows the pre-tribulation rapture isn't even saved. While others are more reasonable and realize that the timing of the rapture has no bearing on whether a person is saved or not. Of all the views that attack the pre-tribulation rapture the most popular is the post tribulation rapture. Next would be the pre-wrath form of the rapture. The leftovers are just a few mid tribulation rapture people and of course the Bible denying and spiritualizing ammillenialist in the smallest group. This tract will give evidence to refute the post tribulation rapture. It is totally impossible for the rapture to occur at the end of the tribulation since the days of the rapture will be like the days of Noah and the days of Lot. We will show that the world will be in complete devastation at the battle of Armageddon. The conditions of the days of Noah and the days of Lot will not be present on earth during the timing of the post tribulation rapture at the battle of Armageddon. This fact alone totally refutes the post tribulation rapture. We will also show that the pre tribulation rapture again lines up with Scriptures as it lines up with the days of Noah and Lot.

First we look at the conditions of the days of Noah on earth.

Luke 17:26-30
26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

We are told that the days of the coming of Jesus will be like the days of Noah. People during those days lived life as normal right up to the point of their destruction. They ate, drank, married right up until the time Noah entered the ark. Then the destruction of the flood suddenly came and they were destroyed.

Matt 24:37-39
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Again before the destruction of the flood the people were living life as normal. They had no idea destruction was about to happen until the flood came and destroyed them all. Verse 39 states this will be the conditions on earth when the Son of Man will come. The whole purpose of this tract is to put forth the fact that those conditions will not exist at the end of the 7 year tribulation period at the battle of Armageddon when the Lord Jesus returns to setup His kingdom. However the conditions described certainly fit into a pre-tribulation rapture before the rise of the Antichrist and the beginning of the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy.

Next we look at the conditions of the days of Lot on earth

Luke 17:28-30
28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

The days of Lot were similar to the days of Noah. Life went on as normal right up until the time of Divine judgment and sudden destruction. The wicked continued as usual to eat, drink, buy, sell, plant, and build just as they always did. But in verse 29 we are told that the same day God safely removed Lot from Sodom, He destroyed that wicked city with fire and brimstone. Again their destruction was quick, sudden, and unexpected. Then in verse 30 we are told that these same conditions will exist in the world when the Son of man (Jesus) is revealed.

There is another condition in the days of Lot that is very similar to the days we now live in. See the below verse:

Jude 7
7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner giving themselves over to FORNICATION, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

In the days of Lot the people gave themselves over to fornication or sexual sin. They were homosexuals and adulterers and engaged in any type of sexual sin that they desired. Those conditions are true today on a worldwide scale. Even though people are aware of terrible diseases like Herpies or AIDS they still engage in gross immorality. People believe that somehow if a condom is used then fornication is 'safe sex'. God says in Jude 7 above that what He did to Sodom and Gomorrha was set forth as an example for future generations. Societies that give themselves over to sexual perversion will be judged by God just as Sodom was judged and destroyed.

Comparing both the accounts of Noah and of Lot we can see that the world will be living in normal conditions totally unaware of the return of the Lord and the destruction before them. People will continue with life as usual without expecting one day to be any different from another. These will be the conditions on earth at the coming of the Lord. These conditions will be in the world before the pre-tribulation rapture. However these conditions will not be present after the wrath of God is poured out and the Lord returns at the battle of Armageddon.

Keeping the complacent days of Noah and Lot in mind we will now look at the conditions of the world at the end of the 7 year tribulation period when Jesus returns. At this time Jesus returns to earth as a conquering lion to destroy the Antichrist and his kingdom and to setup the kingdom of God on earth. Life will NOT be normal during the 7 year reign of Antichrist. During this time the wrath of God will be poured out upon the wicked. Life will not carry on as normal during this time. There will not be times of normal eating, buying, selling, marrying, planting, harvesting as the world will be almost destroyed by the judgments and wrath of God.

At the end of the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy the world will be broken and devastated. The following are the terrible judgments of God that will be poured out on this evil Christ rejecting world during the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy. This is the time when God judges the earth and pours out His wrath on a Christ rejecting world. Remember after the world suffers these horrible judgments things will no longer be 'normal' on earth. God's wrath will literally consume the earth. Below is a short overview of all the judgments:

Seal judgments:
-1st Seal: White horse (Antichrist) to conquer
-2nd Seal: Wars on earth
-3rd Seal: Worldwide economic troubles
-4th Seal: Death released. 1/4 of the worlds population to die by plagues, disease, and beasts of the earth
-5th Seal: Persecution and mass killing of God's people worldwide
-6th Seal: Massive earthquake
-7th Seal: Silence then the 7 trumpet judgments

Trumpet judgments
-1st Trumpet: Hail, fire, and blood. 1/3 all grass and trees burned up
-2nd Trumpet: Great mountain hits sea. 1/3 all ocean becomes blood. 1/3 all sea life dies and 1/3 all ships destroyed.
-3rd Trumpet: Wormwood star hits earth. 1/3 all freshwater poisoned.
-4th Trumpet: 1/3 of sun and moon darkened
-5th Trumpet: locust beasts that sting and torment men loosed from the pit
-6th Trumpet: demons released and 200 million Eastern army kills 1/3 of the world's population
-7th Trumpet: Cries from heaven and 7 bowl judgments to be released on earth

Bowl Judgments:
-1st Bowl: Terrible and painful sores break out on all who worship beast
-2nd Bowl: Entire ocean becomes blood. All sea life dies
-3rd Bowl: Fresh water becomes blood. No more fresh drinking water
-4th Bowl: Sun increased in heat and scorches and burns people
-5th Bowl: Supernatural darkness on earth
-6th Bowl: Great Eastern army heads toward Armageddon in the Middle East for the final battle
-7th Bowl: Babylon destroyed, massive earthquakes, and 100 pound hailstones devastate earth.

At the end of all these judgments there will not be many people left living on earth. From our current population of almost 6 billion the world will number in the millions. There will be widespread death and destruction during the 7 year tribulation period. The post tribulation person wants people to believe in their erroneous view of the rapture. However the conditions of the days of Noah and the days of Lot will not be present on earth at the battle of Armageddon when the Lord Jesus returns. God rejecting people will be cursing and blaspheming God for all the terrible judgments. One of the judgments is 100 pound hailstones to fall on earth:

Rev 16:18
18 And there were voice, and thunders, and lightnings; and and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.
20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.
21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven every stone about the weight of a talent (100 pounds): and men blasphemed God because of the plague of hail; for the plague thereof was exceedingly great.

During the wrath of God men will know that it is God judging. Life will NOT be normal. The wicked will be blaspheming God for all the terrible judgments. Life will NOT be normal with buying, selling, marrying, planting, harvesting etc. That will be impossible with all the grass and trees burned up and all the water poisoned and turned to blood. All the sea life will dead and the world and ecological system will be utterly broken. All the cities of earth will be destroyed. Every island will be destroyed and all the mountains will come down. Folks think this one through... these days will NOT be like the days of Noah and Lot. People will NOT be living life as normal while God is judging the world. The post tribulation rapture is a total error and false teaching. It does not line up with the Bible. It just doesn't fit into the Scriptures and should be dismissed as total foolishness.

CONDITONS IN THE WORLD FOR THE RAPTURE

Since the rapture will occur in times of prosperity then the terrible devastation's will not hit the earth until sometime after the rapture of God's Church. Prosperity can be trouble too. During times of prosperity people tend to fall asleep and be unconcerned about eternal things. That is exactly what happened in the days of Noah and the days of Lot. In the days of Noah God warned the people through Noah for 120 years. They clearly heard the message of judgment and still rejected it. Life went on and crazy old Noah was just someone who warned about judgment to deaf ears. Finally the day came when Noah and his family entered the ark with all the animals and the door was shut. Then God destroyed the world with water just as He said He would. Lot was in a similar situation. Sodom was a prosperous city and its inhabitants had given themselves over to all kinds of leisure activities including gross sexual perversion. The sin of sodomy (homosexuality) was practiced by men and woman and was considered 'normal' in that society. OOPS... that sounds like our society today!!! At any rate the same day God removed Lot from the city of Sodom it was destroyed by fire and brimstone. The destruction of that city showed God's attitude toward the many sins of Sodom including homosexuality. That is why some people today refuse to call homosexuals ... gay. Instead the term sodomite is used as it also reflects God's judgment on that perverted type of sin. But the people of Sodom were carrying on with life as normal right up until the time they came under the judgment of God. First they were blinded which allowed Lot to escape the city. Next the fire and brimstone destroyed them all and wiped out their city forever. A very sobering thought for those in the liberal 'sexual orientation' camp.

God tells us when the Lord Jesus returns it will be in a time of prosperity just like the days of Noah and Lot. Like was previously mentioned this cannot occur during the battle of Armageddon as the world will be devastated at that time by the judgments and wrath of God. However it can refer to our days now just before the rise of the Antichrist. The world is in a prosperous position right now. The stock market is at an all time high and has no signs of slowing down. The next few years will be very busy for many as year 2000 problems must be addressed and solved in the business world. All indications show that there are good years ahead economically. However it is a false prosperity that can collapse almost immediately when God judges.

In the next verse the Lord Jesus asks a question:

Luke 18:8
8 I tell you that he will avenge them speedily, Nevertheless when the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?

Will the Lord find faith on the earth when He returns? During these days of prosperity like the days of Noah and Lot many will reject the things of God. Prosperity will lull many to sleep concerning spiritual things. The whole world will head toward spiritual apostasy as it heads into the days of the Antichrist. There is a saying that there are no atheists in foxholes (during war). However during times of prosperity there are all kinds of people who forsake spiritual things. Prosperity lulls people to sleep. This is what the Lord Jesus says will happen before He returns. People will be buying, selling, marrying, having kids, working, planting, wheeling and dealing right up until the rapture hits. Today many are rejecting sound doctrine and forsaking Biblical truth. Instead myths and ear tickling ideas are passed from teacher to teacher with huge followings of people. In the midst of all the prosperity and apostasy the rapture will occur! We are in those days right now and we should be on alert. The rapture could very well happen soon...perhaps today!

Matt 24:42
42 Watch therefore for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: For in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh

Mark 13
31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 32 But of THAT DAY AND [that] HOUR KNOWETH NO MAN, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33 Take ye heed, WATCH AND PRAY: for YE KNOW NOT WHEN THE TIME IS.
34 [For the Son of man is] as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35 Watch ye therefore: for YE KNOW NOT WHEN the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, WATCH.

During prosperity no one will expect the Lord Jesus to return. Let me rephrase... no one (but God's elect who have not fallen asleep) shall expect the Lord to return. However even among the saved many have sleepy and droopy eyes. Some are fighting just to stay awake while others are taking a cat-nap. The rapture will be a very sobering event and Christians are told to watch and wait for it. The Lord warns again ... Watch and be ready! During these days of Noah and Lot the rapture will happen. No one expects the Lord to return for His church and unfortunately this also includes the majority of Christians. It is time to wake up and watch and be ready for the return of the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 5:1
1. But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6. Therefore let us not sleep, as [do] others; but let us
WATCH AND BE SOBER.

Again the exhortation is to watch and be sober. Stay awake and be ready for the Lord to rapture His church to heaven! This day will overtake the world like a thief. The lost will be totally surprised after the rapture takes millions away from the earth (including children). However Christians are told that this day should NOT overtake us as a thief.

The prosperity and peace of the days of Noah and the days of Lot refutes the post-tribulation position on the rapture. According to the post-tribulation error the rapture occurs at the climax of the battle of Armageddon. As the Lord Jesus is coming back to earth, God's people are raptured up to meet him. They are quickly seated on white horses, make a U turn, and come back to earth with the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no time for the judgment seat of Christ or the marriage supper of the Lamb. The main nail in the coffin for the post-tribulation error is that the world will NOT be in a time of peace and prosperity during this time. At the end of the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy the world will be in shambles. All the green vegetation will be burned up and all the water will be turned to blood. The world will be utterly broken with the terrible judgments of Revelation: the Seals, the trumpets, and the bowls. People will not be living life like the days of Noah where they are buying, selling, marrying in a normal lifestyle. Therefore the post-tribulation error must be dumped into the trash can of foolish doctrine. It just does not line up with Scriptures.

On the other hand, the pre-tribulation rapture has no problems at all. Before the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy and before the rise of the Antichrist the world will experience a false time of prosperity. People will carry on with life as normal with buying selling, planting, harvesting, marrying etc. During this time the Lord Jesus will return and the rapture will occur. All of God's people (His Church) will be taken to heaven. All the babies will also go up in the rapture. The days of Noah and Lot cannot happen at the end of the battle of Armageddon because the world will be devastated. However before the pre-tribulation rapture the world conditions will be like the days of Noah and Lot just before judgment fell on an unsuspecting world. Once the rapture occurs the world will be thrown into a panic. During this time the devil's Antichrist will be able to rise to power showing all kinds of satanic signs and miracles to deceive the lost. As I've written previously I believe the devil will claim alien beings have arrived to help mankind evolve to their next level in the scales of evolution. These alien beings will be demons who will openly manifest themselves to the world. The rapture will be explained away by these 'alien beings' and the world will accept the explanation. This is the great deception that will come upon the whole world.

2 Thess 2:9
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish, because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong DELUSION, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Right now people are being conditioned through TV and movies to accept this great lie....the DELUSION. Movies are conditioning people to believe in other friendly beings out there and that we are not alone in the universe. The Star Trek series presents a united federation of planets with all kinds of alien races living together in peace and harmony. Nice fiction but to the lost who reject God these things are a logical possibility. After the rapture all the 'Hollywood' conditioning will be applied as the demons disguised as 'aliens' will offer hope and peace to the world. All kinds of signs, wonders, and lying miracles will be shown to the world with the goal of Satanic deception. Since the world has rejected the Lord Jesus Christ they will accept the devil's Antichrist with open arms. This will be the great delusion and all who reject the Lord Jesus will accept this lie. So what are we to do in light of all these things that are about to come upon the world?

Luke 21:28
28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

The first encouragement is to STAY AWAKE. Yes the world is in a time period like the days of Noah and Lot. Yes the stock market is booming, the housing markets are doing well, and for many people the job market is doing well. The tendency today is to reject sound doctrine, to accept fables and lies, to get over involved with the things of the world, and to exclude spiritual things. The conditions of the days of Noah and the days of Lot is in the world right now. This is when the Rapture will occur. We have already shown that those conditions will not exist during the battle of Armageddon and the second coming of the Lord Jesus to earth to setup His Kingdom. Instead the days of Noah and Lot will precede the rapture of the Church. We are in those days right now. Yes during this time God will begin to judge the earth. There will be terrible storms, terrible plagues (AIDS), earthquakes, and all kinds of disasters, wars and rumors of wars. But life still goes on as normal with people saying that we've always had the odd disaster to hit the earth. In the midst of this false time of prosperity that has blinded the world the rapture will occur suddenly. The challenge for Gods people is to stay awake and watch for His coming. Don't fall asleep be alert and ready every day to stand before God. Soon the rapture will occur and soon we will be home in heaven. The world will go through the judgment and wrath of God but God's people have the blessed hope of the rapture to look forward to!
