A THOUGHT FOR THOSE INVOLVED WITH REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY

by Alan Yusko

In these last days many fail to understand the simple basics of Bible prophecy. The latest trend for those blind to Bible prophecy is to reject the nation of Israel. Recently the Presbyterian Church came up with an anti-Israel stand. They are against the nation of Israel and have made it a policy stand.

Others have bought into the lie of replacement theology. This false teaching goes something like this: Israel sinned when they rejected their Messiah, the Lord Jesus. As a result God has rejected them and they no longer have any promises in the Bible. At Pentecost the Church was born and all the prophecies and promises once given to Israel have been transferred to the Church. The current nation of Israel is nothing but a fluke to these people. That is the false teaching of replacement theology.

It is very sad, but replacement theology is growing in these last days.

In this article we will look at one small point in Bible prophecy that totally refutes replacement theology. Let's start by reading a few verses:

Ezek 37
9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

The above verses are part of the prophecy of the restoration of Israel. Ezekiel chapter 36 and 37 deal with the restoration of Israel from the four corners of the earth. This prophecy began fulfillment in 1948 when Israel became a nation and it continues to this day.

A GREAT ARMY

The above verses talk about the restoration of Israel as a nation. The verse to look at is verse 10. Israel will be restored and they will rise up and be a great army. This verse has been fulfilled today! Israel is a nation with a great army. Their army is so powerful that it is in the same league as the USA army! That is quite a miracle considering Israel is such a tiny nation with a population of only 6 million!

There are two things fulfilled in these verses:

1) Israel will be restored to their land.
2) The restored nation of Israel will rise up with a great army

Truthfully, these replacement theology people must like having their eyes blinded by putting their heads in the sand! Why would God restore Israel and fulfill Bible prophecy if He has rejected them as the false teaching of replacement theology teaches? According to replacement theology, Israel is just a fluke and they teach that God is against Israel. This teaching is complete foolishness! The fact is very clear that God has restored the nation of Israel. The great Israeli army (verse 10) is proof that they have not been forsaken at all! The above verses make those two prophecies very clear!

For those who wish to dig a bit deeper, they can also look at Romans chapter 11 for more verses clearly saying that God has not forsaken Israel.

CONCLUSION

In days past God made many promises to Abraham, Issac, and Jacob. These promises were dependant on God and not on the actions of sinful man. Today, to be true to His Word and promises made to Abraham, Issac, and Jacob, God is restoring Israel. God remembers all the promises given to Abraham and is fulfilling them in the world for all to see! Only the blind, like those given to replacement theology, miss these prophetic fulfillments and events in the world.

Here is another point to consider. Those who reject the basics of Bible prophecy cannot understand the rest of the prophetic issues. Israel is in the heart of Bible prophecy as God is not through dealing with and fulfilling prophecy in relation to the nation of Israel. Those who reject Israel, have no foundations to understand the rest of prophecy being fulfilled in the world right now. This is why there exists foolish beliefs like the preterist and the amillennialist!

Don't listen to people in regards to Bible prophecy if they believe in the false teaching of replacement theology. They have deviated far from Scripture. Some such individuals pervert the Bible to the degree that if one does not believe in their prophetic beliefs then that person is not saved. They have forgotten that it is the Lord Jesus who saves and saving faith has nothing to do with ones prophetic viewpoints. Let me make this point very clear. It is possible to be saved by the blood of the Lamb and still be completely wrong about Bible prophecy. Sadly, there are some people in that situation today!

I do know there are saved people who are greatly confused about Bible prophecy and have believed in some form of replacement theology. I would only hope articles such as this will point them to the Bible so they can be corrected from their prophetic and doctrinal errors.

2 Tim 3
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works
