THE RETURN OF THE JEW TO ISRAEL AND BIBLE PROPHECY
by Alan Yusko

The Bible has lots to say about the nation of Israel. God brought this nation into existence and there is a future of great blessing ahead for Israel. In days past Israel sinned against God and has been disciplined. They have be dispersed from their land two times now. The first was when Babylon conquered Israel and the second was at 70AD until 1948 when Israel became a nation. Today we are living in a very unique time. From the four corners of the world God is bringing the Jew back to their home in Israel. This miraculous prophecy is happening right now and only a few are able to see what God is doing. Israel began a nation in 1948 and they recaptured Jerusalem in 1967. The day is coming when their Messiah, the Lord Jesus will return to earth. When He returns at the climax of the battle of Armageddon, He will return in Israel. His feet will first touch earth at the Mount of Olives nearby Jerusalem.

This tract will look at several Scriptures outlining the return of the Jew to Israel. We will see that the dispersion of the Jew has ended and God is bringing the Jewish people back to their homeland of Israel. We will see that even though Israel will face troubles, they will never be destroyed as a nation. God is the protector and helper in Israel. The restoration is in two phases. First the Jew is returned to the land and Israel is reborn. Sometime after that there will be a spiritual restoration of Israel as they turn back to their God and to their Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.

THE NATION OF ISRAEL:

The Jews of Israel have been dispersed from their land for almost 2000 years. The Bible says they will once again return and they will come back from the four corners of the earth. Ezekiel chapter 36 gives a description of the return of the dispersed Jew back to their homeland for the second time. The first dispersion occurred when the nation was sent in captive to Babylon and they returned in the prophet Daniel's days. The second dispersion occurred in 70 A.D. when the nation was scattered to all nations. Their return to the land has begun in our generation with the formation of the Nation of Israel in 1948. From then until now the Jew is still being brought back home to their land by God. This is a miracle which cannot be denied.

The following verses describe the return of the Jew to Israel.

Ezekiel 36
1. Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:
2 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:
3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made [you] desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and [are] an infamy of the people:
4 Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that [are] round about;
5 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all [their] heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
6 Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen:
7 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that [are] about you, they shall bear their shame.

In the first 7 verses God states that He is the one who judged Israel. He did it because of sin and idolatry in the land. As a result of the judgment in verse 4 the land became desolate waste and the cities forsaken. Quite a judgment but is it permanent? Will Israel be forsaken forever? Did they lose their Eternal promises like the some say?.... No thankfully not!

Starting in verse 8 God begins to talk about the restoration of the land. We are living in those exciting days! In 1948 Israel became a nation once again and in 1967 Jerusalem was again recaptured! Listen to all the wonderful promises God gives to the land:

Ezekiel 36
8 But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.

The land of Israel was desolate since 70 AD when it was conquered by the Romans and the people dispersed to the four corners of the earth. Since that time the land was a desolate desert where only the drifters lived. What has happened since 1948? Well the land has begun to bloom again like a rose! After being desolate for almost 2000 years the land responded as God brought His people home again! Today the land is blessed and is now a major worldwide exporter of fruit. The desert is coming to life and the land is responding to the Jew returning home.

Ezekiel 36
9 For, behold, I [am] for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:

The land will once again be farmed. Farms are everywhere in Israel and they are doing well and producing all kinds of fruits and vegetables.

Ezekiel 36
10 And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, [even] all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:

The cities will once again be inhabited and the wasteland converted and builded up! That is happening today. Cities are springing up in the land and the wastelands are being restored and rebuilt.

Ezekiel 36
11 And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better [unto you] than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.
12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, [even] my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them [of men].

God will once again increase both man and beast on the land. This is happening today!.... since 1948 when Israel became a nation.

Ezekiel 36
13 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou [land] devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations;
14 Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD.

The judgment is being removed and men will once again increase in the promised land.

Ezekiel 36
15 Neither will I cause [men] to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.

God will also remove the shame of the nation of Israel. Today Israel is a strong and feared nation. She has won many battles against impossible odds. For just a few million people yet Israel's military is third or fourth best in the world. That alone is quite an accomplishment.

Ezekiel 36
16. Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.

God again mentions why He scattered and judged His people. When they were in the land, they defiled it by their rebellion and sin.

Ezekiel 36
18 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols [wherewith] they had polluted it:

One of the reasons God judged the land was because innocent blood was being shed. That is happening today in our land as babies are being murdered by the thousands by abortion. The land was also polluted by idolatry. The sins of the people became so great that God had to deal with it. God is also beginning to judge North America because of sin...but that is another subject.

Ezekiel 36
19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

So what did God do? He scattered the people to many countries. Here is a BIG difference between the captivity of Israel in days past and the dispersion that occurred in 70 AD. This dispersion of the people was to many countries. Hence when God brings the Jew back to the land He will do it from MANY countries.

Ezekiel 36
20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These [are] the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.
21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.
22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not [this] for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.
23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I [am] the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.
24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

Verse 24 indicates that God will return the Jew from ALL countries and that He will bring them back to their own land. The above verses describe how God has brought the nation back into existence. This is happening right now and will continue to happen. However it is only part one of the restoration. Part two is the spiritual restoration of the nation. This will occur at the end of the time of Jacob's trouble which will culminate at the battle of Armageddon when the Lord Jesus returns. At that time there will be a spiritual restoration of Israel as the nation will turn back to God and their Messiah....the Lord Jesus Christ.

Israel will one day return to their God and Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. We will see the Spiritual restoration in more detail when we look at the book of Zechariah. After the Spiritual restoration Israel will be greatly blessed in the Millennial (1000 year) Kingdom.

Ezekiel 36
25. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

What can clean from sin and filthiness? The blood of Jesus!

Ezekiel 36
26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them].
28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.
29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.
30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.
31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that [were] not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.
32 Not for your sakes do I [this], saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.
33 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause [you] to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.
34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.
35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities [are become] fenced, [and] are inhabited.
36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined [places, and] plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken [it], and I will do [it].
37 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet [for] this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do [it] for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.
38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I [am] the LORD.

When all this is accomplished the entire world will know that God is the one who did it! We are seeing these things begin to happen today!

In Ezekiel chapter 37 we also have the restoration of Israel. There is a prophecy of dry bones:

Ezekiel 37
1. The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which [was] full of bones,
2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, [there were] very many in the open valley; and, lo, [they were] very dry.
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.
5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but [there was] no breath in them.
9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
11 Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
13 And ye shall know that I [am] the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken [it], and performed [it], saith the LORD.

Here we have the dry bones coming together and then flesh coming upon those bones. Who are the bones. In verse 11 it says they are the whole house of Israel. God is fulfilling these prophecies in our days and bringing the Jew back home to the land of Israel. It is not a fluke that the Jew is returning...it is a fulfillment of God's Word. The 'dry bones' came together in 1948 when Israel once again became a nation.

15. The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying,
16 Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and [for] all the house of Israel his companions:
17 And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.
18 And when the children of thy people shall speak unto thee, saying, Wilt thou not shew us what thou [meanest] by these?
19 Say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which [is] in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, [even] with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

When Israel returns it will not be a divided nation like it was in days past. They will be one people and one nation....and they will be in the very hand of God. Again we are seeing this happen today.

20 And the sticks whereon thou writest shall be in thine hand before their eyes.
21 And say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land:

God will bring the Jew home from every country and return them to the land of Israel. Remember it is God who is doing this and today we have the privilege of seeing this happen!

22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all:

They are coming back as one nation, (not divided), and will have One King, the Lord Jesus. That will not happen until the 1000 year Kingdom begins on earth when Jesus returns.

23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwelling places, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
24 And David my servant [shall be] king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

The Lord Jesus will reign but God previously gave promises to King David. He also will rule during the 1000 year Millennial Kingdom. Israel will return completely to their God and serve Him. No more will they turn to rebellion and sin.

25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, [even] they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David [shall be] their prince for ever.

Notice verse 25. This verse alone refutes the phony claims of those who think God has forsaken Israel. Notice that God gave that land to the Jew FOREVER! This verse is pretty clear and is one of the many wonderful eternal promises that God has given to the physical children of Israel in relation to the land.

26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore.
27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

God has not forsaken His people Israel. There are many more promises that God is yet to fulfill to the children of Israel.

28 And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

Yes God is blessing the literal nation of Israel. When God uses terms like 'everlasting' and 'for evermore' it means just that! God has not forsaken Israel and would never do such a thing.

JERUSALEM IS BACK IN THE HANDS OF ISRAEL

In 1967 a milestone event occurred in Bible prophecy. The Jews of Israel retook the city of Jerusalem after almost 2000 years! This was done against all military odds. In short, it was a miracle that they were able to take the city.

Luke 21
24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

When Jerusalem comes back into the hands of the Jew then we know that the 'times of the Gentiles' is fulfilled. The end of the age is quickly approaching and one of the signposts is Jerusalem. First Israel became a nation again in 1948 and Jerusalem is once again in the hands of the Jew. The Lord Jesus is coming back soon and those two events are major signposts.

Another important sign of the last days is Jerusalem center and forefront in the world news. Jerusalem will be the center of the worlds problems in the days to come. The prophet Zechariah showed that by the time of return of Jesus, all nations will be gathered together in war against Jerusalem. Today the nation of Israel and the city of Jerusalem are in the news almost daily. Why is that so? Such a small nation and such a small city! Yet we are dealing with the Holy Land and the apple of God's eye, Israel. It is not a 'fluke' that Israel and Jerusalem is forefront in the world news as the some believe. No 'fluke' but rather God actively working.

THE LORD JESUS RETURNS TO EARTH & THE SPIRITUAL RESTORATION OF ISRAEL

When the Lord Jesus returns Israel will exist as a nation. The nation will repent before God over the death of their Messiah. They will have their spiritual conversion at that time. First the nation of Israel will come to exist physically and at a later time they will return to the God of their forefathers.

Lets have a look at Zechariah chapter 12.

Zechariah 12:1
1. The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

This is a Word from God for the nation of Israel. Not spiritual Israel as some would try to deceive one into believing...but literal, physical Israel.

2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah [and] against Jerusalem.
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.

Some people believe that the existence of Israel and Jerusalem in the hands of the Jews is just a fluke. Isn't that crazy! Wake up.... it is not a fluke but a direct fulfillment of Bible prophecy. Go get your local newspaper and see what nation and what city has been forefront in the news for the last 40 years. The nation of Israel and the city of Jerusalem has been under close watch by the WORLD news. Why is this so? Thousands are killed in New York every year and the world news doesn't care. But if one person is killed in Jerusalem it makes front pages around the world! Why is this so if Israel and Jerusalem is just a 'fluke' like some say?

No God's Word rebukes the spiritualizers of Scripture! See above at verse 2 and 3. Jerusalem will be a 'cup of trembling' and a 'burdensome stone for ALL people'. Guess what....that is happening right in front of our eyes. God is not finished with Israel and Jerusalem! He is fulfilling prophecy right in front of everyone in the world? Who has eyes to see this simple fact?

Next we read about conditions in Israel at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem [shall be] my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.
6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, [even] in Jerusalem.
7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify [themselves] against Judah.
8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David [shall be] as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
9. And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

This age will end with the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. At that time the battle of Armageddon will occur. In verse 9 above, God says He will destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. Again we have Jerusalem in the center of the world stage with all the armies camped against it.

10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for [his] only [son], and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for [his] firstborn.

Who was pierced in Jerusalem? The Lord Jesus Christ! Here we see the conversion of the nation of Israel. They will turn back to God and the Lord Jesus Christ.... their Messiah. There will be great repentance and mourning that day in Jerusalem.

11 In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.
12 And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;
13 The family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart;
14 All the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.

Zecharaih has shown us some things that will happen when the Lord Jesus returns. This is going to happen and is a very literal event.

Lets look at some more verses about the returning Jew to the land of Israel. God has not made silent His plans but has openly declared them in His Word, the Bible.

THE RETURNING JEW TO ISRAEL - DIRECT FULFILLMENT OF PROPHECY!

The Jews coming home from the four corners of earth. This is happening TODAY!!!! God is bringing Jews home to Israel from every nation.

Isaiah 11:11
11 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Notice in the above verses that the children of Israel will be brought back to the land of Israel from:

- Various nations (Isa 11:11)
- Islands of the sea
- Four corners of the earth

(This didn't happen in the Babylon dispersion as they came back from one country, Babylon!). But now since 1948 God has been bringing back the Jew from all over the world! We have a direct fulfillment of the Word of God going on in the world!

Hosea 3:4
4 For the children of Israel shall abide many days without a king, and without a prince, and without a sacrifice, and without an image, and without an ephod, and [without] teraphim:
5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.

Hosea is interesting. It sure describes Israel for the last 2000 years. They have been desolate with no Temple, no sacrifice for sin, and no king. We are living in the days of verse 5 (afterward) when God is bringing. them home to Israel. When will it occur....in the latter days (we are now in the latter days). They will also accept their Messiah at the end of the 70th week or the time of Jacob's trouble (the Tribulation period) when the Lord Jesus returns to earth.

Where shall the children of Israel come from when they are restored to their land? From one nation (Babylon) as in the first captivity of Israel? No, they will literally come from the four corners of the world!

Isaiah 43
5 Fear not: for I [am] with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

The Jew will come from all over the earth! From the north, the south, the east, and the west is where God will bring the returning Jew back to Israel. This is happening right now as God is calling the Jew back home.

When will this happen? Well Ezekiel chapter 38 describes the coming invasion against the land of Israel by the army to the north (Russia and her allies). Below we see that it will occur in the latter years..... (we are in the latter years now).

Ezekiel 38
1. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I [am] against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts [of armour, even] a great company [with] bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
5 Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
6 Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: [and] many people with thee.
7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
8 AFTER MANY DAYS THOU SHALT BE VISITED: IN THE LATTER YEARS THOU SHALT COME INTO THE LAND [that is] BROUGHT BACK FROM THE SWORD, [and is] GATHERED OUT OF MANY PEOPLE, AGAINST THE MOUNTAINS OF ISRAEL, WHICH HAVE BEEN ALWAYS WASTE: but it IS BROUGHT FORTH OUT OF THE NATIONS, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

Notice that they will come into the land of Israel for war in the latter years. Today, the time that we are now living is the latter years! This invading army from the north shall come into the land of Israel that:

1) is brought back from the sword and the land is wasted (desert, etc),
2) The people of the land have been brought forth out of the nations!

That is happening right now! The land is being reclaimed by the Jew and is blossom like a Rose. Trees, fruits, and vegetables abound in Israel. This was not the case for the last 2000 years when the land was made into a wasteland & desert. Secondly Ezekiel 38:8 also mentions that the people have come forth out of the nations (plural). The Jew is returning home from all over the world. We have already been covering that but here is another place in God's Word where He again mentions the restoration of Israel from many nations!

HAS GOD FORSAKEN ISRAEL?

Many people who symbolize the Bible and do not rightly divide the Word of truth in the Scriptures make the claim that Israel has been forsaken by God. These people ignore literal Scriptures in the Word of God by trying to assign a spiritual meaning to the Scripture. This results in the verse saying something that fits their man-made definition rather than what God has to say. The end result is taking literal Scripture and spiritualizing the meaning so the literal can be ignored. Unfortunately these unstable people also apply their warped reasoning to the nation of Israel. They claim that God has forsaken Israel and that the Church is now Israel. That is a very foolish and dangerous claim to make. Hitler had a similar belief system as he believed the Jews were rejected by God. He then proceeded to murder 6 million Jews as he felt they were a cursed race before God. Fortunately the Bible states that Israel are still God's people and God still has a great plan for that nation. Even though they have been disciplined, they have NOT been cast away!

I think we have seen clear evidence from the Word of God that Israel as a nation is still within the plan of God. Only the totally blind would even try to suggest that God has forsaken Israel. If God forsook Israel then they would not exist as a nation today. It is as plain and simple as that. Here is what God says about the possibility of forsaking the nation of Israel:

Jeremiah 31
35. Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, [and] the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts [is] his name:
36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, [then] the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
37 Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.

According to God, the seed/nation of Israel is very safe. That is why the nation exists today and Jerusalem is back in the hands of the Jews. God is still working with the children of Israel and keeping His promises concerning them.

Next we will look at the book of Romans chapter 11. There is lots of information in this chapter that shows that Israel is still in the plan of God and that they have NOT been cast away.

Romans 11:
1 I say then, hath God cast away His people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

Verse 1 the question is asked... has God forsaken or cast away His people Israel? The answer is God forbid.. or NO WAY!

2 God hath not cast away His people which He foreknew. Wot ye not what the Scripture saith of Elias? How he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,

Again it is repeated the fact that God has NOT cast away Israel. God foreknew them which means He knows their beginning and their ending. God knew they would sin and be disciplined for their sin. However He still has a plan for Israel and we see it happening in the world today!

3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

Elijah felt alone and cried out to God saying that he was the only one. God answered and said no... there are 7000 who have not bowed the knee to Baal.

5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Even today many Jewish people have responded to the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour and their Messiah.

6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Israel stands before God by His grace and not by their works. God made unconditional promises to Abraham concerning His seed. Even though they may be disciplined, they will never be cast away because their standing is based on the grace of God and not by works.

7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for: but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
8 (According as it is written,God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear) unto this day.

Israel sinned and rebelled against God in days past. As a result they have been under the discipline of God. They have been blinded as they did not respond to God in past. One day they will repent and accept their Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ.

9 And David saith, let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompense unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
11 I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

As a result of the discipline on Israel and their temporary falling, salvation has come to the world. God is now calling out a people call the Church. This group of people is composed of both saved Jews and Gentiles.

12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the gentiles; how much more their fulness?

If the falling of Israel brought salvation to the world then the question is asked what great blessing to the world will be their restoration? Yes the day is coming when Israel will return to their God and Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.

13 For I speak to you gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

Again if the falling away and temporary discipline of Israel meant the reconciling of the world, then the receiving of them back to God will be nothing less than life from the dead. In otherwards it will be great blessing to the world when Israel returns to their God.

16 For if the firstfruit be Holy, the lump is also Holy; and if the root be Holy, so are the branches.

The firstfuit is the Lord Jesus Christ who is God manifest in human flesh. He was born a Jew in the land of Israel and He is the Saviour of the world.

17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

The Gentiles were grafted into the blessings of God as a result of what the Lord Jesus did on the cross.

18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Thou wilt say then, the branches were broken off, that I mignt be grafted in.
20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be no hignminded, but fear:
21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest He also spare not thee.

Israel was temporarily set aside because of unbelief.

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness. If thou continue in His goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

One day Israel will return to their God and be restored to their position of great blessing before God.

24 For if thou wert cut our of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

It will be very easy for Israel to be received again as their are the natural branches. The Gentiles were grafted in even though they are not the natural branches but are wild in nature.

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the gentiles be come in.

Here is the great mystery. Blindness in part has happened to Israel until the full amount of the Gentiles be saved. During this time between the 69th and 70th week of Daniel's prophecy, God is calling out a special people called the Church. However the blindness on Israel is only temporary and will one day be removed. Israel became a nation again in 1948 and they recaptured Jerusalem again in 1967. We are certainly heading to the end of Gentile times.

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written there shall come out of Zion the deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

The day is coming when Israel will repent and accept their God and their Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. God still has a plan for Israel even though we are in the Church age and the spotlight is temporarily off the nation of Israel. However Israel still has to go through the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy.

28 As concerning the Gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the Fathers' sakes.

Right now Israel lives in unbelief to their God. But they are still elected and God is still dealing with the nation of Israel. God has great plans for that nation in the coming days.

29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

God has made many promises to the nation of Israel. He will never change His mind as He will accomplish all He has promised to that nation.

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, ye have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that He might have mercy upon all.

The goal is belief in God and trust in the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ who is God manifest in human flesh. God became a man and died on the cross in order to pay for the sins of the world. He now offers salvation to all who will receive it.

AFTER THE RAPTURE!

Rev 7:4
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

After the rapture of the Church the prophetic spotlight will turn back on the nation of Israel. God will seal 144,000 Jews of the 12 tribes of Israel. The question may be asked: Why would God only seal Jews since the Church of God is composed of both saved Jews and saved Gentiles? The answer is simple. The rapture has occurred and the Church has been taken to heaven. This is why 144,000 Jews are sealed by God. These Jews will preach to the world and an innumerable number of souls will be saved. See below:

Revelation 7:
9 After this I beheld, and lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, ant tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
10 And cried with a loud voice, saying salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12 Saying, Amen: blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, Wwhat are these which are arrayed in white robes? And whence came they?
14 And I said unto him, sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, these are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, anhd made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Therefore are they before the throne of God and serve tHim day and night in his temple: and He that sittesth on the trhone shall dwell among them.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither hsall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

The 144,000 Jews will win all kinds of souls to the Lord Jesus during the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy. People on earth will be forced to accept or reject God and His salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who get saved will be killed for their faith during the days of the Antichrist. Yes God still has a plan for the nation of Israel!

CONCLUSION

In this tract we proved that God is not finished with the nation of Israel. The greatest proof is their existence in the world today...against all odds. We covered several Scriptures that support the nation of Israel and the fact that God is not finished with them. We have seen that the Jewish people are being called by God back to Israel from all the nations of earth. Israel became a nation in 1948 and recaptured Jerusalem again in 1967. Even though Israel will face troubles in the days ahead they will never be destroyed because of the eternal promises of God Himself. God will never forsake Israel. They have gone through great discipline for their sins but they are still within the plan of God. We also saw how after the rapture God would seal 144,000 Jews of the 12 tribes of Israel. God still has big plans for the nation of Israel. Those final plans have already begun. The starting point was when Israel became a nation in 1948 and in 1967 when Israel recaptured Jerusalem. What is coming up next? Well expect more troubles for the nation of Israel. Expect the door to open and the nation to begin building their temple in Jerusalem. Even though it may currently look impossible for the temple to be rebuilt, things can change quickly. It will be God who will open the door to rebuild the temple at the right time. This temple must be rebuild because midway into the reign of the Antichrist, he will enter the temple and claim to be God. The Antichrist will then demand all people to worship him. All who refuse will not receive the mark of the beast and will be hunted down and killed.

Very interesting days are just ahead for the world. The 70th week of Daniel's prophecy is about to be fulfilled. The stage crew is setting up all the props and soon the final play will begin. The good news is that the rapture of the Church will occur before the beginning of the 70th week. As we can see the props being set in place even today it is joyful to know that the rapture cannot be far away. Soon the Lord will descend from heaven to take His Church home. Once that occurs the restrainer will be removed and the Antichrist will be free to rise to power and the 70th week of Daniel's prophecy will begin.
