Many today practice the occult and think nothing of it. Some of these people even dare to call themselves Christian... which they are not! These people love and enjoy all the witchcraft in Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. They think nothing of taking enjoyment from occult practices that the Lord calls an abomination to Him! Some of these so-called Christians even try to defend their love of the occult. They claim: "Judge not!" or "it is harmless fun" etc. In doing so they are just showing the lost condition of their darkened soul that loves the things of Satan!
In this article I want to make one point very clear. Practicing the occult is an abomination to the Lord and it is spiritual adultery or whoredom! It is not a light matter to play with and enjoy the occult dark arts that have been popularized via Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings.
AN EXAMPLE
Lets say you are married. You have been married for 1 or more years. During this time you have been faithful to your partner. Now here is a question. Would your marriage partner be happy if you decided to have an adulterous affair? Would that be a good and healthy thing to do for your marriage? Would you do it openly or in secret? Think about it for a minute.
Did you know that practicing the occult is the same as adultery and whoredom before the Lord?
Lev 20
6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits,
and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set
my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among
his people.
2 Kings 9
22 And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said,
Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as
the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are
so many?
Judges 2
17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they
went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto
them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers
walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they
did not so.
Did you also know that the occult is an abomination to the Lord?
Deut 18
10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his
son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth
divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a
wizard, or a necromancer.
12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the
LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth
drive them out from before thee.
So, if you want to offend and sin against the Lord then just accept and take part in the occult. If you want your Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, occult games, etc.. then fine, enjoy them. Just do not call yourself a Christian as you are NOT one! A Bible believing born again Christian wants nothing to do with something that is a major sin and an offence before the Lord!
If you are reading this and you love the occult then you are not a Christian. You are nothing but a lost hellbound sinner on the way to the lake of fire. You have allowed yourself to become self-deceived in thinking you are a follower of the Lord Jesus. You may even attend some form of church. No matter, you are still lost and your home will be forever in hell. The below verse is for all those who love and enjoy Satan's world of the occult:
Rev 21
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and
murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and
all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with
fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
CONCLUSION
If after reading the above you realize that you have sinned before the Lord in your acceptance of the occult then that is a good thing. The occult is a great sin before God and it is not to be ignored or taken lightly.
If you want to do the right thing then I'll tell you what must be done.
1) First in prayer confess your sin before the Lord. Tell Him that you did wrong in your enjoyment and acceptance of the occult.
2) Next take action to rid your life and your home of this evil. Gather up all the occult items and destroy them. Get the evil/cursed occult items out of your house! If you have any Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings books, tapes etc. then destroy them once and for all. Get rid of any ouji boards, occult toys, and anything related to Satan's world of the occult.
This type of action is not new. There is an example in the Bible of Christians who realized they had evil items in their lives. These Christians came together and destroyed all of them! See the below Scriptures:
Acts 19
18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed
their deeds.
19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their
books together, and burned them before all men: and they
counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand
pieces of silver.
20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.
Look at verse 20. As a result of the obedience of the Christians in ridding their lives of occultic evils, the Lord blessed and prospered them! Do you want such a blessing for your life? Do you want a close walk with the Lord in these last days!
Then drop all foolish arguments and justifications for the abomination of the occult. Take action now and rid your home and life from all your occultic items!
And all God's people said.... AMEN!
