There is only one way to heaven. Only through the Lord Jesus can a person be saved. On the other hand there are many ways to hell. Satan has many pathways that look very good. They all have the same result. The Lord Jesus is rejected and a false gospel is presented.
In these last days this doctrine is greatly attacked by the false teachers and apostates. It is very socially acceptable to believe that all paths lead to heaven and somehow everyone will make it! You go your way and I'll go mine and we will all be together in heaven one day. (la la la)
Christianity stands out in this area. The Lord Jesus is the ONLY way to be saved. There is no other way! In fact all other ways lead to an eternity separated from God in the lake of fire! Here is what the Bible says:
John 14
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no
man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Acts 4
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other
name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
As you can see the Bible presents a very narrow way for a person to be saved. The Lord Jesus is the only Saviour. There is none other!
In light of this introduction, lets read about the narrow path of salvation!
Matt 7
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate,
and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many
there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which
leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
The Bible warns people that there is only one way to heaven. The way of salvation is likened to a straight and narrow way. There also exists a broad road that leads to hell and damnation. The majority of people choose to perish on the broad way to hell. This is a very sad thought. Hell is real and most people are going to go there after this life is over. Rather than come to God on God's terms (the only Saviour, the Lord Jesus) these lost people chose their own pathway on the broad road.
There are many choices on the broad road. Some are into statues, saints, and purgatory. The Catholics have a false works-based system that is a prominent pathway on the broad road to hell. The Hindu's have many different false gods a person can worship. In fact they have millions of false gods and a person can pick and choose whom to worship. It really doesn't matter what false gods are chosen as the end result is hell anyway. Then there is the Muslims. These violent men murder and kill in the name of their false god Allah. When they are not killing non-Muslims they fight and kill each other. It is another broad pathway to hell. Other paths would include the proud atheist who denies the existence of God. These lost people think there is no God and we are just dust in the wind and a product of some impersonal evolutionary processes. When they die, they get all dressed up in the coffin but have no where to go! In reality, they are on the broad road and they will go straight to hell upon death. There is a saying: There are no atheists in hell as they convert on the way down (..but its too late!) There are many other choices from UFO stories to all kinds of funny and crazy false religions. Yes there are many pathways to hell! Which path are you on? The broad road to hell? Or the narrow road to heaven through the Lord Jesus Christ?
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's
clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes
of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a
corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a
corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down,
and cast into the fire.
In these last days there will be many false prophets and teachers. However they will be self-centered, power hungry, and money oriented lost men. They will attract great followers as many in these last days reject sound Biblical doctrine. But these false prophets will be easy to spot. Just look at their fruit:
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Check out their fruit. Look at the fruit of doctrine. Test all doctrines and teachings with the Bible. Does it line up with Scriptures or does it not. If the teaching or teacher does not then reject that person and move onward.
Also look at their attitude toward money and power. Do they seek celebrity status? Do they live in a big fat mansion paid for by their gullible followers?
Just look at the fruit!
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter
into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my
Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils?
and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:
depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
The Lord Jesus will say to many on judgment day that He never knew them at all. Many folks are religious and seek to follow God on their own terms. These lost folks fashion a god to believe in that will allow their evil and immoral lifestyle. They then worship and follow that god. However, as previously mentioned the only way to heaven is through the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other way. Many will be lost and the Lord will say to many that He never knew them!
CONCLUSION
Since the road to heaven is narrow, be sure you are trusting
in the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no other way to heaven but
by the Lord Jesus! Avoid the other paths as they just lead a
person straight to hell!
