1 Tim 2
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

In these last days deception can be found throughout the world. I have noticed that IF someone can be deceived and fall away, then they will.

This article is an encouragement to hold fast and to keep safe from the harm of deception.

Remember the days of Adam and Eve? In those days Eve was deceived by Satan and fell into sin. This did not happen to Adam. He was not deceived at all. Instead, he sinned by an act of his will. As you know from their sin, all of mankind became sinners. Thankfully the Lord Jesus has come and now offers salvation to all who will receive it.

The sin of Adam and Eve set a trend that is still true today. Women are more easily deceived than men are. I've noticed another trend. The best way to deceive someone is to get them into extra-Biblical revelations. This would be someone who is prone to have extra-Biblical visions or "Words from God" or "prophecies" from a being who they claim is God. This type of thing happens all the time in these last days. To such a person, the Bible is not good enough. Instead it must be supplemented by all kinds of extra-Biblical revelations. This is the key to being deceived! Just believe in and embrace extra-Biblical revelations and you will be easily led astray!

To avoid deception cling to the Bible, the Word of God. It really has all a person needs for this life!

Heb 4
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

If you find one pandering extra-Biblical revelations then stay clear from that person. It is possible to avoid deception by removing yourself from the source of the deceiver and their big mouth.

Titus 1
9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
10 For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision:
11 Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake.
12 One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies.
13 This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;

In these last days don't forget to read your Bible each and every day. It is spiritual food and it is part of a Christian's growth and maturity process in the Lord. It also protects a person from being deceived and from being led astray!
