This is an interesting question. I have wondered why anyone would be so stupid as to align themselves with the devil. In past days people worshipped Baal, Molech, Diana, Isis, and other false gods who were in reality, Lucifer the devil. It really does not make any sense why a person would be so foolish to worship the devil when it is possible to have a relationship with the God of heaven!
Today we are in the closing days of human history. Just like those in the past who worshipped Baal, many today openly worship the devil. Just look at the rock and rollers of the day. They don't hide their love and adoration for Satan. These rock and rolling losers are very proud to be on the devil's team. But it doesn't stop there! There are Masons and Black Magik Skull and Bones politicians who also worship the devil. In fact in these last days there are many who are seeking to bring to power the devil's antichrist and setup his kingdom. These people look forward to their coming New World Order and are actively working to bring that to pass. Many world leaders are doing that right now.
One day, according to last days prophecies and God's permission, these devil people will succeed in setting up their New World Order. Here is what the Bible says about those working to setup the devil's new world order:
Psalm 2
1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel
together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,
3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the LORD shall have
them in derision.
As you can see in verse 2, these world leaders are working together against the Lord. They seek to setup their own kingdom and to cast away all influences from heaven. Little do they realize but God is only going to tolerate their rebellion for a short time. God will allow the antichrist to rise to power and his people to setup their demonic new world order. But God will send great judgment! These people will be destroyed off the earth and be cast into the lake of fire where they belong! At the end of the 7 year rule of the antichrist, the Lord Jesus will return and completely defeat the antichrist and all his followers!
Look at the following verses. They show the return of the Lord Jesus and the destruction of the antichrist and his followers:
Rev 19
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that
sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness
he doth judge and make war.
12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many
crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but
he himself.
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his
name is called The Word of God.
14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white
horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he
should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of
iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and
wrath of Almighty God.
16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written,
KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a
loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of
heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper
of the great God;
18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains,
and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of
them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and
bond, both small and great.
19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their
armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on
the horse, and against his army.
20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet
that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them
that had received the mark of the beast, and them that
worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake
of fire burning with brimstone.
21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat
upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and
all the fowls were filled with their flesh.
As you can see above, those who follow the devil will be completely destroyed when the Lord Jesus returns! Here is a point to consider in light of that fact. Those following the devil are on the losing side! They will be completely destroyed. Right now they are basking in pride that their plans for a new world order seem to be working. They are waiting with excitement for the time when their Satanic antichrist is revealed to the world. Yet they are all losers who are headed for a great defeat! So, why would a person serve the devil since he is on the losing side! Satan is no match for God and he has already lost the battle in God's eyes. So again, why would a person in his right mind follow the devil?
HE IS A FOOL
What would you think of a person who thought so much of himself that he tried to kick God off his throne? God is all powerful yet this proud person thinks he is God and wants to "take over". Would that person be sane? .. or would he be a proud, arrogant, foolish nutcase?
With that in mind lets read a description of the fall of Lucifer when he became Satan or the devil:
Isaiah 14
12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I
will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon
the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like
the most High.
15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
This proud angel called Lucifer decided to rebel against God and to kick God off His throne. Sadly, the devil also convinced 1/3 of his fellow angels to go along with him and they rebelled also. These fallen angels have become demons that are very active in the world today.
Do you really think that was a rational thing to do for a created being to get so proud that he would try to cast God off His throne? Or perhaps, could such a person be a crazy fool.
Since Satan has no chance of defeating God, he is a loser to the highest degree. His followers are also losers as well. However, just like the devil, they are exceedingly proud as right now, their plans seem to be succeeding. Yes, God will allow them to have their new world order and their antichrist. Prophecy will be fulfilled and the destruction of the loser Satan and his followers is sure. So, why choose to follow a loser?
CONCLUSION
In light of these facts, why would a person follow the devil? Today many people are following him to their ultimate eternal death and destruction in the lake of fire.
Right now there are many enticements for people to become followers of the devil. Just look at how Satan is prospering rock music, Harry Potter, and Lord of the Rings. People taste Satan's occultism and enjoy it. As a result they want more as they grow very close to the devil and far from God.
Is this the choice you wish to make reader? Are you also a follower of the devil? Have you chosen the side of darkness and evil? Has your love sexual immorality and sin dictated to you the false religion to follow? There is a saying that says: A man's morality will dictate his theology.
People must make choices and there are only two to make. Either you accept or you reject the Lord Jesus as your Saviour. To do nothing is the same thing as rejecting the Lord Jesus. Make your choice and do it now as the time is very short!
John 3
36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he
that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath
of God abideth on him.
For those who choose to reject the Lord Jesus, you do it because you love sin and darkness. You will make a choice and you will have to stand by the eternal consequences of that choice!
John 3
19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the
world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their
deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh
to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
