Comments on incorrect rapture viewpoints

The Mid-Tribulation Rapture

The mid-tribualtion Rapture teaches that the rapture of the church will occur in the middle of the 7 year tribulation period. It will occur sometime around the abomination of desolation when the anti-Christ goes into the rebuild Jewish temple and there claims to be God.

PROBLEMS:

* This view denies the imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. There will be no suprise or unknown time when the rapture will occur. First the anti-Christ must come to power, then he confirms the covenant for 7 years with Israel...and then the rapture occurs in the middle of the 7 year period.

* The followers of this view are somewhat rare. It is not a widely followed view.

* The followers of this view are looking and waiting for the anti-Christ rather than the Lord Jesus Christ.

* This view is a robber that takes away the expectation of the blessed hope of the return of Jesus.

The Post Tribulation Rapture

This view teaches that the rapture will occur at the end of the 7 year tribulation period. After the anti-Christ rises to power he will confirm the covenant with Israel for 7 years. At the end of the 7 years is the battle of armageddon. The Lord Jesus returns during the battle of armageddon. This view teaches that as the Lord Jesus is returning back to earth, God's people will be 'caught up' or raptured at that point in time. They will return to earth with the Lord Jesus Christ.

PROBLEMS:

* This view denies the imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. There will be no suprise or unknown time when the rapture will occur. First the anti-Christ must come to power, then he confirms the covenant for 7 years with Israel...and then the rapture occurs in the end of the 7 year period. No suprises or unknown time of the return of the Lord Jesus to earth.

* The followers of this view are looking and waiting for the anti-Christ rather than the Lord Jesus Christ.

* This view is really quite foolish. Think this through.... As the battle of Armageddon occurs the Lord Jesus will return. With him will be His people riding on white horses from heaven. (Rev 19) Therefore as the Lord Jesus leaves heaven He must leave with a whole bunch of empty white horses. As He descends God's people on earth are raptured and I guess they find themselves sitting on a white horse and coming back to earth! Suprise, suprise, you are coming back...! I wonder if they get a briefing on the way back!

* The Bible states that days of Noah and the days of Lot will be like the return of the Lord. During that time people were buying, selling, marrying, planting, and harvesting. This is when the rapture of the Church will occur. It will happen when life is normal and no one expects the Lord to return. However the conditions of Noah and Lot will not be present on earth at the battle of Armageddon. From our current population of almost 6 billion the world will probably only have several million left living. Maybe a hundred million at the most. There will be widespread death and destruction during the 7 year tribulation period. The post tribulation person wants people to believe in their erroneous view of the rapture. However the conditions of the days of Noah and the days of Lot will not be present on earth at the battle of Armageddon when the Lord Jesus returns. God rejecting people will be cursing and blaspheming God for all the terrible judgments. Life will NOT be normal with buying, selling, marrying, planting, harvesting etc. That will be impossible with all the grass and trees burned up and all the water poisoned and turned to blood. All the sea life will dead and the world and ecological system will be utterly broken. Folks think this one through... these days will NOT be like the days of Noah and Lot. The post tribulation rapture is a total error and false teaching. It does not line up with the Bible. It just doesn't fit into the Scriptures and should be dismissed as total foolishness.

* This view has a terrible problem of leaving no one left on earth to populate the 1000 year kingdom that the Lord Jesus will setup when He returns. If all God's people are raptured as the Lord Jesus returns that will leave only the wicked on earth when He returns. The wicked will be destroyed as they will NEVER inherit the kingdom of God. So if the wicked are destroyed and God's people are all raptured then who will be left to enter into the 1000 year Kingdom? When people go into the 1000 year kingdom they will not have their eternal bodies but will be just like we are today. They will marry and have children. After the rapture all God's people will have their eternal bodies leaving no mortals left on earth to go into the 1000 year kingdom. This is a terrible problem that totally refutes the post tribulation view. But will the followers of that incorrect view listen?

* This view is very popular and is probably second to the correct view of the pre-tribulation rapture. Also the followers of the post-tribulation view are very hostile to the pre-tribulation view.

* This view is a robber that takes away the expectation of the blessed hope of the return of Jesus.

The pre-wrath rapture

This view of the rapture understands that God will not pour out His wrath upon His people. In this point only does it agree with the pre-tribulation rapture. This view teaches that the anti-Christ will rise to power and confirm the 7 year covenant with Israel. Sometime after the middle of the 7 year period and sometime before the end of the 7 year period the 7th seal is opened. They teach that this is God's wrath and the Great Tribulation. They believe that the church will be present on earth for the first 6 seals of judgment but raptured before the 7th seal which they classify as the wrath of God.

* This view foolishly teaches that the restrainer of the anti-Christ in 2 Thessalonians 2:6,7 is Michael the Archangel. This is really quite foolish as Michael is just an angel is weaker than the devil. In a previous encounter with the devil Michael couldn't defeat him and had to say the Lord rebuke you.... Michael has always been associated with the nation of Israel and never with the Church. Also Michael is not an omni-present being so how could he restrain evil around the world???? It just doesn't make sense but this leap of foolish faith is necessary in order to subscribe to the pre-wrath view.

* The foundation stone that this incorrect view stands is their belief that the wrath of God is only found in the 7 bowl judgments. They claim that the 7 seals and 7 trumpets are not the wrath of God. Based upon that "assumption" they build their pre-wrath view. Below is a summary of the judgments of the book of Revelation:

Seal judgments:
-1st Seal: White horse (Antichrist) to conquer
-2nd Seal: Wars on earth
-3rd Seal: Worldwide economic troubles
-4th Seal: Death released. 1/4 of the worlds population to die by plagues, disease, beasts of the earth etc.
-5th Seal: Persecution and killing of God's people worldwide
-6th Seal: Massive earthquake
-7th Seal: Silence then the 7 trumpet judgments

Trumpet judgments
-1st Trumpet: Hail, fire, and blood. 1/3 all grass and trees burned up
-2nd Trumpet: Great mountain hits sea. 1/3 all ocean becomes blood. 1/3 all sea life dies and 1/3 all ships destroyed.
-3rd Trumpet: Wormwood star hits earth. 1/3 all freshwater poisoned.
-4th Trumpet: 1/3 of sun and moon darkened
-5th Trumpet: locust beasts that sting and torment men loosed from the pit
-6th Trumpet: demons released and 200 million Eastern army kills 1/3 of the world's population
-7th Trumpet: Cries from heaven and 7 bowl judgments to be released on earth

Bowl Judgments:
-1st Bowl: Terrible and painful sores break out on all who worship beast
-2nd Bowl: Entire ocean becomes blood. All sea life dies
-3rd Bowl: Fresh water becomes blood. No more fresh drinking water
-4th Bowl: Sun increased in heat and scorches and burns people
-5th Bowl: Supernatural darkness on earth
-6th Bowl: Great Eastern army heads toward Armageddon in the Middle East for the final battle
-7th Bowl: Babylon destroyed, massive earthquakes, and 100 pound hailstones devastate earth.

I hate to burst their bubble but the 1st seal is just as much of God's wrath as the 1st trumpet or the 1st bowl judgment! It is all the wrath of God against a godless, Christ rejecting world. For example look above at the 4th seal judgment. 1/4 of all the worlds popluation will die. Folks.. that is the wrath of God! The population is now almost 6 billion people. The 4th seal judgment alone will kill 1.5 billion people! Next look at the 6th trumpet. 1/3 of the population of the world will be killed! Lets say by then the population is 4 billion people at this time. After the 6th trumpet another 1.3 billion people will die! Yet the pre-wrath people will try to have people believe that the wrath does not begin until the bowl judgments! Don't believe that foolishness! Before the bowl judgments the population of earth will be at least cut in half by the wrath of God. The 1st seal is just as much the wrath of God as the 1st bowl! The pre-wrath people are WRONG and their view should be rejected.

* This view is a robber that takes away the expectation of the blessed hope of the return of Jesus at any moment.

Amillennialism - denial of the coming 1000 year kingdom

This view is good for those who like to interpret the Bible by spiritualizing all the literal and making them spiritual. This view is really anti-Israel and believes that they have lost their God given promises to Abraham, Issac, King David etc. They teach the church is Israel and the literal nation is nothing significant at all. They read Revelation chapter 20 which clearly states there will be a 1000 year kingdom and spiritualize the literal making them oblivious to the obvious. They say there is no 1000 year kingdom because 1000 years doesn't really mean 1000 years. No, instead it means something spiritual that really only the amillennialist can grasp. It is really a foolish belief and requires a person to take literal portions of the Bible and spiritualize them away into some kind of secret meaning that only other amillennialists can understand. I have very little respect for this view because of its attemp to rob the literal nation of Israel of all her God given promises that are being fulfilled in the world today RIGHT IN FRONT OF EVERYONE'S EYES. (Everyone but the amillennialist who looks at the world by spiritualizing literal events)

PROBLEMS:

* This view denies the imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. There will be no suprise or unknown time when the rapture will occur.

* The followers of this view are difficult to talk to as they have blinded themselves to the simplicity of the Bible by spiritualizing the literal in Scriptures.

The Pre-tribulation Rapture (the correct view!)

The pre-tribulation view is the only one that is consistent with the Scriptures. It allows for the rapture that can come at any time. In fact the rapture could come today as no prophecy needs to be fulfilled. It teaches that after the rapture the restrainer of evil will be removed (the Holy Spirit filled Church). The Holy Spirit will still be present on earth after the rapture but the Church will not. At this point the anti-Christ may rise to power and confirm the 7 year covenant with the nation of Israel. At the end of the 7 year period at the battle of armageddon the Lord Jesus will return with His Church behind Him. God's people who survive the 7 year period on earth will enter into the 1000 year Kingdom. Everything harmonizes with the Scriptures. God's people have their blessed hope and expectation of the return of the Lord Jesus Christ in rapture as opposed to the other incorrect views that are waiting for the anti-Christ. There are lots of files that may be read on the Bible Prophecy and Rapture Report home page that deal with the pre-tribulation rapture.
